Re: Pics of your latest purchase I pulled the trigger on a brand new Tamiya TT02 chassis kit, I got it really cheap cause, there is no box, no body, no decals, no brushed motor or brushed/brushless Esc, no tires and wheels, just the chassis kit |

After trying and trying to like hyrax and being disappointed I finally broke down and took a 40 grit flapper wheel to them while they were spinning on the drill press. It worked well and they don't suck anymore! |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase Unfortnauly we've had 25" of rain since I've installed them , can't tell real performance, but much more traction in the yard Hang up and Drive |

Re: Pics of your latest purchase 1 Attachment(s) Another set of dluxfab.com brass knuckles with 8mm stub shafts and Ti links will be here today. Also have a set of VP xr length rear shafts on the way to go along with another order. Still waiting on a shapeways order from pat13's store to get finished and ship out next week with xr width adapters and upper link mount to go with the tungsten holders that will sit inside the wheels to keep the weight way down low. Of course I made the order then realized I only ordered 1 weight holder and adding the second one slowed the shipment down a few days but they didn't charge shipping so whatever. Picked up a air of pink dot rovers to get prepared for the winter crawling season too. Let's see what these big dumb gum balls do on cold rock. :D |

What was issue, no grip? Hang up and Drive |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase Quote:
Yup. G8 works best in warmer weather and even in the summer heat the tread being a harder compound with big lugs they wouldn't get a good grip. Grinding the tread down a bit woke them up completely. It's still hot out so I'm using them up front with solid success. They actually work better than my beloved ruptures in the heat. |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase Wow! I deal with 90 to 110, these seem to work, but it is hot here Hang up and Drive |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase 1 Attachment(s) New Bright Can Am Spyder. These are very hard to find so scooped this up for higher $$ than i normally would spend on a shelf queen. Will paint it to match mine, change the esc, convert it to 2.4 and throw a HeyOk light controller on it. |

That fancy crawler guy in Utah and I have been discussing this for some time and I think he was on to something and we've just expounded on the study of it since then. We both run a bit heavier than most but not crazy light. We are both in the low 5 lb range but most of the weight is centered on the front knuckles so front tires get a large concentration of force upon them. Super sticky tires just don't work as well in high heat. A harder compound with a bit stiffer foam kills it in the summer while a soft tire with softer foam rules the winter. I have pretty much all the major players in the tire game in various compounds so I'm finding more and more truth to his idea all the time. Just look at proline, they make their short course and buggy tires in like 6 different compounds based upon temperature. "thumbsup" |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase Interesting.... I love my ruptures, just got a set of the hyrax , will be fun testing if it ever stops raining here Hang up and Drive |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase Quote:
And you aren't even into the rainy season yet! 25" of rain is our cumulative 4 year average. Try hyrax or ruptures on the front of your bully. It's like crack or your first taste of poontang you just can't go back to pins all around after that. |

Re: Pics of your latest purchase https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ae5a045f37.jpg Rs4 sport 3 flux. It's a nice car but personally I think it has some issues that need fixed. Had to turn the steering on it wayyy down as it's extremely touchy, put 7k fluid in both diffs and adjusted the gear mesh. Which lead to a better handling car but stripped the spur gear and ended up stripping the servo gears on the second battery Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The hyraxes went on the wraith. I took the ruptures off, to see what differences to be had. Night and day. One difference between the tires is wheel width, 1" vs 1.4". I did try the ruptures on the bully, didn't work, hubs wrong and tie rod was hitting sidewall https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e4739d989d.jpg Rain ?? We've had close to 45" In a month, even here that's a lot, this year reminds many here of past hurricanes, then we see Harvey Hang up and Drive |
Re: Pics of your latest purchase Just got an exo22sct chassis, and some sport 3 parts in from exotek, as well as the mid motor conversion for a 22sct 2.0. Mid motor conversion will start tonight after 1 more rear motor run! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
