Got this for my birthday. Going to mount it up on my Traxxas UDR and see how good the image stabilization is.

More gun stuff. Some for the current bolt gun build, and some for the upcoming I couldn't resist the pull of the July 4th deals any longer build. I think you guys can figure out what it'll be.

And, since I have another build going, I needed another optic. The gun fun fund is pretty low, so I had a pretty tight budget. I've heard really good things about these guys, but a tracking test and time will tell the story.

How do you find time to build rifles when there are so many RC kits out there now??

Speaking of which, if you find yourself in want of a .22 scope I have a like new Nikon Prostaff 3-9 x 40mm I'd trade for RC parts. Turned out it had no business on a 10/22 Takedown.

I haven't touched an RC in over two years now. I really appreciate the offer, but the long term plan is to move the Athlon over to the .22 when the new LR .308 gets better glass at some point. But, you never know, maybe the little Talos is all I'll need, so I'll keep it in mind.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you like it on the take down? I'd think a 3-9 would be perfect there.

How interesting that you're so active on an RC forum. I know, it's because all the cool kids hang out here, right?

One of the attractive things about the take down was just that...and a full size 1" scope defeated the purpose essentially. It's a great scope, but it makes the take down feature on the Ruger almost unusable, and doesn't fit in the included case with it mounted, so...hello, tritium sights.

Sorry for derail...back to purchases.

Nice! My first scratch AR build was a 308 using Matrix upper & lowers. Nothing like diving right into a 308 build for your first one! The gun is my deer hunting rifle, and I absolutely love it.

Thank you! I have two other ARs, one with two uppers, 5.56 and .300BLK. But this is my first .308 AR. I've wanted one for quite a few years. I hope to be taking a similar pic in the fall. That's a DAMN nice buck my friend!

Thanks. I was extremely fortunate that he walked right into my spot on the 2nd Saturday of this past season. The only downside is that I only got to take 1 shot with my snazzy new rifle all season.

That's a crime!

I don't hunt in NC because the deer here taste like crap, and once you get one, it's a LOT of work to get it back to a vehicle/camp in some really steep tight terrain.

I got lucky and got in on a game lease in GA last year. Can drive my rig right under my stand (deer are used to cars and tractors on the farm), and drive it right over to it if I bag one. We keep 'em well fed, and tightly control what you can harvest as well. Hell I think the limit is 10 this year in GA, 8 does and 2 bucks.

I hunt the same piece of land exclusively. Between my Dad and I, we pulled deer 3 of the 4 years we've hunted there. There are more deer right in my back yard, but the deer where I hunt taste fantastic. I hate gamey tasting deer. The 3 we pulled out of this area taste almost the same as beef. These deer must eat a lot of corn & grain.

Joined a quarterly spirits tasting club thing called flaviar.com. Got my first tasting set in today. It includes Breckenridge Bourbon, Few Rye Whiskey and Wolfburn Northland Scotch:

Just ordered this little guy. Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore had them down to $429 THEN S&W has the $50 rebate. So for $379 this and all it’s goodies can be had, wicked deal imo.
