Airbrushes are relatively new in my life. I have been using the Iwata Neo for the past year. It's been nothing but a headache for the most part. To be honost I had reached a point where I was either going to throw in the towel on airbrushing altogether or step up and give it another go with a better brush. So here I am. Thankfully the paint appears to flow much better with this one. Clean-up is significantly easily with this one as well. I just did some spraying tonight and it went so smoothly I was kinda floored.

edit : I need to get to bed, gnite all

The "problem" with the Neo is the narrow channel. While paint containing fine pigments (ie. high-quality, & very expensive, artist/illustrators-level paint) flows through it easily, paint work more course pigments can have trouble. The Eclipse, on the other hand, had a wider channel, this even point with course pigments flow easily. The differences in nozzle design makes all the difference.

Years ago, when I was primarily airbrushing t-shirts, I used the Paasche VL (double-action, siphon feed), primarily because I needed to be able to change colors will. Now that I'm only using an airbrush for hobby (RC, models, etc), I'm using the Paasche Talon TG (double-action, gravity feed), as it sits me finer control, plus I have no need to change colors quickly...plus, I really like the gravity feed, as I can add as little, or as much, paint as I want, and I can easily/quickly add more if needed.

Knowing you weren't from the Neo, to the Eclipse, I'll assume you like it even more than I had originally thought. Whether Paasche Takin, or iwata Eclipse, when it comes to RC/hobby, both belong in anyone's "extremely short list" of someone's to pick from.

I have found that working with airbrush, you really need to keep a eye on the viscosity of your paint, not least if you are really airbrushing.

If you just use it as a replacement for rattle cans, you should do better.

Sadly i have zero artistic skills

I have used a Neo for close to 5 years. I love it. Only issues I have had with it was from my kid not cleaning it properly.

I considered a Paasche as well. Bought the Eclipse mainly because I already had the right attachments and found a decent price on it locally. What you have pointed out with regards to the wider paint channel was something I had also come across when reading a review column. It was actually the explanation that made it clear. The Neo choked hard on the white Mission Polycarb paint. It seemed like no amount of mixing and thinning at any psi would push that shit through the nozzle
