^^LMAO.

Hell yeah, I'm addicted already Cory. I'm dragging ass this morning, played Project Cars till 3AM. it's by far my favorite racer now with the wheel, and the entire game makes Forza feel like a modern version of Pole Position. Hoping Assetto Corsa is done well on the console.

Taco, you really need a wheel. I was on the fence about one, but running the Ariel Atom V8 at Bannochbrae and feeling every bump and tire slip (not to mention the control over throttle and brakes compared to a controller) is one of the best home gaming experiences I've had in years. Hell, maybe ever for a racing game. I had some great moments in other cars, but the Atom is just damn good raw fun.

Well speed, I'm glad the wheel works cause I don't think my controller settings would have done you much good.

Ha ha, I monkeyed with the controller and finally found some settings that made it playable, but I wouldn't say it was fun. It was more like nervous anticipation of when it was gonna happen. Then again, I only gave it a few days on the controller before buying the wheel.

My one bitch about this wheel, and from my research all others, is why the hell do wheels still not have a headset jack? That's full retard.

Yeah you gotta keep a controller right next to you for the headset, I agree it's just stupid. All the crap they put on the wheels they leave the headset jack off.

Yep, and the controller will go to sleep on you, killing your chat session. I'm going to see if my buddy wants to buy my old Turtle Beach headset, and if so, I'll pick up the 420x wireless setup, no need for the controller then.

Are the 420x a true wireless setup? My Astro A50's are wireless from the transmitter but still require a wire to the controller. Also did you get a stand for the wheel or are you just using a coffee table?

They're true wireless, you plug a USB dongle in the XB1 and that's it.

For now I have an adjustable height folding table with some of the weights from my Bowflex dumbbells to stabilize it. Did the same with weights behind the pedals, but they tend to tip up under braking so I'm going after work to pick up M6 bolts (the base is threaded already) and a plywood base for them then I won't need the weights. Honestly, the table setup works much, much better than I thought it would. And, for me I need to be able to tear it down and reclaim the living room every now and then, not to mention I sit about 40" from a 50" TV when playing so watching TV with all that piled up in front of it is out of the question. I'll get some pics of my setup.

Also, found an app that does telemetry on a phone or tablet, and the wheel has a slot to hold one on top. Kinda cool, like having a Motec in the living room.

Yeah I would like to see some pics. That's my problem as well. I would have to have a modular setup to keep the wife happy till I can make my game room in the basement appear.

hey guys,
need your help, im trying to find the manufacture/name of a car thats in forza 4 or forza 6. i cant remember which one.
its an off the wall car brand youve never heard of. kind of an angular stealthy futuristic car. i think they only have one car (in forza at least)
its powered by a LS(7?) motor i believe, and also has corvette brakes. if memory serves me correct you can actually zoom in on the wheel and if you look close the calipers actually say corvette on them.

i know its a long shot but any help would be appreciated.

possibly. calipers look blue which would be correct for C6 ZR1 calipers. motor/power/supercharger would also be correct for a ZR1.

The 2010 Mosler MT900S uses the Z06 motor, but it's not really futuristic looking.
It's the only other one of a kind GM powered car in the game.

Taco here's the pics I promised. The only issue I've found is I had some slight vertical movement between the wheel and table due to the shape of the underside of the folding table, which I picked up at Lowes. I cut a short piece of 1" x 1/8" wood and put under the feet on the clamp before tightening it down and it's mostly gone now. Those are bowflex weights on the table legs to stabilize it, but anything would work. The pedal platform is a $9 piece of 3/4" ply, and is a must. I already owned the table, so I have $12 in plywood and bolts wrapped up in it. It's no sim cockpit, but it works pretty damn good since the table height is adjustable.

That looks pretty good speed, depending on the chair I could do something like that. The chair would have to be stationary though. No rocking chairs or office chairs would work for me. But that setup looks doable for sure.

Thanks Taco. I think the table was $40 or so, it's a 4' x 2', this is the exact table I have;

https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-4428...=folding+table

I use on old chair that I slide over, can be a bit tough getting in and out though on the carpet. Not gonna lie, once I get my chair where I want it, I crawl in and out race car style.

Also, the big rig in the new car pack has a ridiculous amount of gears (i know that's normal for them), it will wear your shifting fingers out. LOL

hey guys you might look into DIY and bought wheel stands. there pretty cheap and take up very little space, and possibly a little most solid than the table setup. more portible too. just an idea. having your wheel and pedals rock solid will really improve your driving and experience.

Cory I'm definitely going to pick up a stand at some point, just undecided on what I want as I've read negatives points on most all of them. And I had most of this laying around anyway.

For the PVC route, here's the plans to do your own, but I've read they aren't very stable laterally, which is where you need it most with a wheel IMO.

yeah and make sure your pedals and locked down solid.
i think one of those 2x4/2x2 wood DIYs is the way too go. cheap and customizable, just heavier than the hollow steel tube store bought ones.
