Got a pic or two of the race last weekend before I came up short on a step up and screwed up my ankles. Track layout was fun. The dirt sucked ass though. But, Elsinore has always had shit for dirt.

I see roost coming off your tire and you're bitching. Come down here and ride the clay in August, shit's like concrete.

Good looking steel framed YZ OTHG. I picked up a nicely setup (WR trans, SSS fork/shock, 265cc, hydro clutch, 18" wheel, desert tank, flywheel weight, Scott's clamp, lots of armor, etc., etc.) '02 YZ250 last year for a friend so he could have a NICE green sticker 2 stroke. He just isn't jiving with the 2T anymore so he wants to sell it already. I find it kind of ironic because he trail rode a YZ125 for several years before moving to a 4T and the suspension on his Yamaha is undeniably better than his orange bike, or most any trail bike for that matter. I've considered buying it back from him, but I love my GasGas 300 too much!

The plan is to sell the YZ and use the proceeds to build a super mini sized trail/play bike based on a KLX140. Most of the guys in our riding group already have pimped out TTR/CRF-F/DRZ/XR/KLX type play bikes as their 2nd or 3rd bike, so as odd as the switch sounds, the 140 would get used more than his YZ.

Here's my DRZ125 that I built up:

next to another DRZ125 that I partially built up and left little wheel:

My old (have since sold to another friend) Dave Miller Concepts XR120:

Another friend's TTR125 I put together:

You just can't ride one of these little bikes without having a good time!

This was in practice when it was either wet freeway or wet clay pit that stuck to everything. It was so slick in some spots. If you make a trip out here I'll take you out to Lake Elsinore where the pic was taken. It's either wet concrete or dry concrete with dust on top. But, it's always been like that out there so you kinda expect it.

That's cool, I really appreciate the offer. You never know, I may just make a journey out one of these days, lots of stuff I'd like to ride on the MTB and sights I'd like to see too.

My 2 bikes. The 1976 CB360 was purchased by me from, the original owner (1 season of use) in 1979. The 1991 Nighthawk 750 was purchased in 2004 with 12000 miles on it.

I restored the 360 after I let it sit for 25 years in the basement...The 750 was purchased to have something to ride while I restored the 360.

CB360:

My NH750:

The saddle bags were surplus containers from an Army Navy Store...I fabricated the brackets myself..

We have two bikes that kinda work. The 125 works great. The 450 is iffy. Hasn't been started for a while and probably needs a carb rebuild and a driveline. But, it has a relatively new top and bottom end with like two hours on them. Either way you would have something to ride.

I have only modernized with electronic ignition and improved voltage regulation. What is amazing was how fiddly timing and tune was in the 70's, and now it is so reliable. This is the third season without touching plugs or timing, which was a monthly thing in the day. I have no fears using the 360 for daily errands as she will start right up and run great every time.

I used it as a commuter in the 70's, but it was not quite as solid as she is now.

Really enjoying it.

Went out to Yoshimura today and got some free tacos and a tour of their factory. It was pretty cool. They make everything in house, even the carbon.

Also saw this:

Did a few things to the F4 to take some weight off...

Moved the turn signals up into the tail, fabbed up a carbon license plate bracket

Just some simple carbon and delrin brackets hold the signals in

added some carbon bits

surprised how much lighter the fender is, and that plastic part of the fender will be replaced with carbon tomorrow (waiting at the post office )

So with all the crap I've taken off, bike is about 8 lbs. lighter now.

Spent days researching enduro tires and finally settled on the Heidenau K60 Scout's.
I got the rear tire without the center tread line.

Had a lot of fun with bikes, back in the day. When I was an apprentice I got myself a 1975 Yamaha 125 RD, later I got a Honda XR 500, both of those were new when I got them, there were a few others but those have the most sentimental value for me.
These are not mine, but look exactly like the ones I had.
