Its a Dr.Seuss book, pretty much a recreation of the cold war... except the people on either side like their toast butter side up, or down. They keep building larger and more retarded weapons till they are at a stand off accepting that no one will win, but never putting their weapons down.

I was old enough, but never really liked Dr. Seuss that well....kinda weird creepy stories and pics...not real enough or something. Either way didn't click for me. But cinnamon toast with butter and more cinnamon sugar on top....yum!

I can't believe you guys weren't Seuss fans! I've got a 6 year old boy so we read them a lot. As a kid, the books are cool because they have funny words and rhymes....as an adult, you realize they have great messages in them.

We read that one last night....and I thought it was quite funny when I was making my breakfast this morning.

I've watched the one with the things had a star on their stomach, and the other things didn't, but they wanted one, so they make a star on stomach making machine....also I watched the one with the two guys that wouldn't get out of each other's way, something about north, and south, and I watched the Jim Carry version of the grinch that stole Christmas.

The first two I watch while in a laundromat, about 17yrs ago (I'm 34), and the Jim Carry movie when it came out on blue ray.

I don't remember reading too many children's books growing up, there was too much playing outside, and getting into trouble to do.
