Default Weirdest WiFi Pops Ups

I was out at a rural gas station the other day and was going to check my bank statement on my phone after I came out. I tap the internet button, the WiFi searcher pops up as it always does when I'm out, and one of the hosts read FBI_Surveillance_Van. Of course it was locked but still, if it was legit wouldn't they have some way to avoid that signal being put out? I'm not computer geek but it seem's like that might be prone to blowing your cover. The only "van" I saw at the time was a white dodge caravan maybe early 2000's model with dark tinted windows and out of state tags.

That's my only weird encounter but it got me to thinking if anyone else has seen anything weird pop up on the WiFi searcher, so......feel free to chime in if you have.

I've seen the FBI van one a few times in different towns/states. There are people in my neighborhood with names like "unreliablepos" and "SuperboyXtreme" and "BabyJesus".

My SSID is "brownnote"... Cause that's funny. The password is funnier but obviously that's a secret.

You guys are, or are around some weird cats then. I've been around cell phones since they were bag phones and CB's before that. Never run across any silly smartphone nonsense before, although thinking about CB handles it makes slightly more sense.

Anyone think there would be any legal grounds that would get you in trouble for "impersonating" by using a certain handle for your WiFi? Seem's like there would be...

There was a wifi network in my former apartment complex that is my all time favorite - "Router? I hardly know her". I laughed every time that one popped up.

Lol, hopefully we'll be roadtripping to Iowa in a couple weeks, I'm now going to have to keep an eye out for these wifi handles here in Illinois and on the drive to the Ames area!

The above said, I just looked at my save handles and found one that reads BWW-GUEST-WIFI, I'm kinda curious where it came from yet just as afraid to ask. Haven't been to anyplace that would be questionable, but all of the hospitals, nursing homes, stores, and restaurants (the latter two being near the former three) from last year all show up.

I kept getting in trouble with the homeowners association because I kept naming my wifi something to do with Free community wifi and they kept getting calls asking for the password.

Meat Wave 2010 is the best one on my street. There are unsecured printers too, I think I'll print something.

There's an apartment complex across the street from me that's well known for drugs. I changed my wifi to "DEA mobile hotspot" one night . Seen 4 cars leave within an hour. Now I alternate it to funny ones I find.
