The ONLY time you should ever own or drive an Alpha is in a video game

That way when it shits itself , your already at home

that's messed up lol. it wont even be an alfa by the time im done with it. it will be like a svo alfastang or something.

if boport was still around I could get a 2.8 stroker block... but esslinger will have to be my main choice for 2.3 and 2.5 parts.

I have an extra t5 with a 4cyl shaft so this winter ill be taking all the interior out and getting my 2.5 out of my ranger and putting it in the alfa. I still have to source parts for my 9 inch rear end to put in the ranger so I can put the 7 under the alfa. this is gonna be fun..

Dadgum, did you post pics anywhere on the forum?

That's a nice car--looks like a 1980s 3 series BMW, but better, because Teutonic styling
leaves something to be desired...

nope. cut the car up. saved the doors and other panels for making fiberglass ones. narrowing the cars design and going to go open wheel.

a company in AUS sells a driveshaft delete kit and a locker to run a subaru 5spd for a mid engine setup. basically, its going to be an oversized formula ford.

As far as I am concerned the only sin I can NOT accept in a car is to be boring.
I don't even care if a car is actually "good" in any objective sense- it just has to have CHARACTER.

Alfa's are known for two things- character and being broken more often than they run.
Sounds like a good project to me.

Though I have never had one...

Enjoy the experience - life is too short for boring cars.

My younger brother had an Alfa Spider back in the early '80s, the pre-federal crash regs model with lovely delicate chrome bumpers...

Right after getting it painted a nice royal blue, he got T-boned by a sorority girl leaving a 4-way stop.

Being a mostly-broke college student, he sold it for scrap and rode a bike and then a motorbike until after his degree.

(he recently picked up a clean Miata as his mid-life crisis car, as the kids are now off to college!)

I once owned an Alfa 33 when I was young. I loved it, the flat-four was a blast to drive! But as they say, Alfas are already rotting on their advertising brochure ...
Would I own one again? Naa
Would I miss it? Definitely yes!
