Default Marx train set information.

This set was given to me last week, I'm trying to find out the age and estimated value. If you have any information that may help me out I would appreciate it.

Hit some of the model railroad forums, some of these can be worth a bit more, especially since you have the original box, sometimes the box is worth more than the train. I've been into model railroading about 45 years. It's not Lionel, but collectors are looking for oddball sets to round out their collections.

Start with All Forum Topics | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum as it's the most active and broad O Gauge forum on the net. There are people that collect this stuff, so you never no. They will definitely have people that know the Marx stuff well.

Thanks guys, I got this when cleaning out families old storage locker. I thought it might be of Value or at least something to keep and hand down to Jr one day. Some of the other relieves suggested I toss it in the trash.

I assume that was relatives,...that's only because they knew the value, and figured once you disposed of it, it becomes fair game

An episode of American Pickers was on this evening, they picked up a nearly identical Marx train set, similar to yours, for $300, and you know they're going to ask $600 when they go to sell it.
