Default I Need A Job!!

I just got the news today, LAYED OFF! So if anyone has a job in northern Colorado HELP! I have been a mechanic for 15 years, mostly undercar (suspension, brakes alignment) But I can do other stuff too. I spent the last year and half as a heavy equipment/ diesel mechanic-field tech and would like to stay in that area. Any help would be cool. DAMB WEATHER!

Rob,

diesel mechanic? if you were in montana, they are begging for them. Envirocon, a government company that cleans up super fun sites all over montana was looking for 4 diesel/ heavy equip mechanics about a month ago, they were offering $30 / hour with full bennies for trained techs. Check online, they may have a site near you.

JR, I worked for a local homebuilder Advocate Homes for a year and a half and before that I worked for Big O Tires as lead mechanic.

Ben, Thanks buddy, I will check it out. If my wife wasn't attached to her Mom at the hip I would come live in Unimog country!

I do have a chance if the weather would get better to come back, but it isn't looking good around here. They just don't have any money coming in. Home sales are normally slow this time of year but the snow has stopped ALL building and excavations ( which is the equipment I worked on). I have faith that the good Lord has a plan for me so I will try not to worry but it will be tough.

Kris I may hit you up on that if I have any trouble.

And here i am thinking on looking for a new job, maybe i should be thankful for what i got?

Maybe i should follow my dreams and become a full time musician!

A musician yeah.... That's the ticket! If I was any good I could always set up on the mall in Boulder and play for money (while my batteries charge at Starbucks) then when I hit my goal for the day it off to Flatirons!! Yeah right!

He makes that much?? I can break all kinds if shiat for $5!
I have got several good leads today nothing concrete but I have some friends that could get me a job almost immediatly as a "last resort" It sucks having to replace a job you really like in very short notice!! I can't take much of a reduction in pay either, two house payments, car payment, insurance, kid (daycare, and other "kid needs") wifes shoulder surgery(s) Oh and my 3k a year habit..... RC Crawling!! I could get a part time job at the LHS but I would owe them money on payday.

RCH could use a new crawling expert now that Mike moved to Boulder ;)

If Skippy keeps missing the events you can have his job of repairing my junk. It pays $10 per comp.

Yeah Lyle keeps saying I should come work there. I make more money then he does though! Plus if I worked there I would end up coming home with $20 paychecks and a bunch of parts.
If I take Skippy's job at least I'm a certified tech!

My uncle was a general contractor in Loveland up until this year, he's not working anymore because sales have slowed so much.

I'm going snowbashing tomorrow with my buddy who owns his own excavating business so he's around heavy equipment alot, I'll ask if he's heard of anything. Sorry to hear about that though man.

My compay laid off about 1/3 of the people just before christmas, I managed to survive for now but the future is still fuzzy.
