If you have time to crawl hit 3 Peaks in Cedar City Ut. That is where we had scale nats 2 yrs ago and also Pioneer park in St George Ut. Both amazing places to crawl. .... also St George has some epic MTB trails!!

It's slow going but really good... the truck feels pretty solid. I'm not really worried about the load at all anymore but I am still being careful as hell and monitoring everything.

I had to make one fast jerky movement (that scared the shit out of me wondering if I'd recover from it) and it was no problem. The Old Man Emu suspension has soaked everything up.
I'm probably averaging 55 mph.
Max speed has been about 62 mph w/o engaging the passing gear.
Long uphills have gotten down to 45 mph before I engage the passing gear/turn off OD/push the tow button.

So far only bad thing (besides sleeping a few hours in the driver's seat!) is I lost my rear plate!
I wanted to be legal so I took the rear plate off the truck and put it on the Versahaul.
I was planning on using the front plate on the Versahaul but remembered I'd used these fancy locking nuts from my WRX and didn't have the key.
Anyway, the bottom half of the plate was exposed to direct airflow and the whole thing broke off... just the bolts were left. I have a new plate & sticker in the mail to California.

I'm heading out there to look for new clients and opportunities. (John Hernandez Portfolio)
I've been wanting to head out there for 20 years and always put it off... because of different women mainly. So my current one said she needs space so I said ok. I'm moving across the country. Then she said wait, I don't need the space... and I said ok great, I'm moving across the country but will probably come back in spring.

This is how I ended up moving from Vermont to Colorado.

Ironically I'm finding myself in the same situation now. No longer in a relationship, no kids and no responsibility. It's like 1994 all over again, so I'm trying to move off the Front Range and down to the 4 corners area. Some place quiet like Ignacio or Bayfield.

Best of luck in your journey

Close... but more like "you smoke too much pot and don't follow through with your ideas/dreams and I don't know if I want to be a part of that long term so let me string you along while I weigh my options.".

So, I have all day today in CO.
I might throw Melons and the fatbike in the truck and head up to Boulder... I'm staying in Colorado Springs tonight and heading to Albuquerque tomorrow.
Originally, I was to stay here 3 nights instead of 2 but I left a day later.

God's speed and Devil's slow bro. Been there and done that twice. Brings back good memories and feelings! Enjoy your journey Johnny. Be safe.

i grew up just a tad bit north of there.

if you have time, go up to denver and check out the crawl space. just to see it. its cool. then you can tool up I70 for awhile and then go south back down through salida and canon city to pueblo and then to n mexico.

im in the same spot kind of. quit my job of 16years to move to the country with a chick, and it didnt work out... complete disaster actually. and since then its put me in a little hole of depression that im trying to climb out of, but its difficult.

i have enough money saved to jump someplace, but im scared to death of living hand to mouth or just failing in general. can relatively easily get a job in a city with my skillset, but a city is the last place i want to be. especially with a little blue heeler. he would hate it... so effectively starting completely over at 43, but this time i have alot more stuff then when i was in the same spot about 20 years ago.

salida colorado... i should just rent a uhaul and head out there. i love that area.

I'm not sure if I'm going to head north or not... Crawlspace is an hour and a half from where I am, I looked it up this morning and then I'll just have to turn around and head back to where I'm staying in Colorado Springs. (I thought I was staying in Denver till last night).

So, I just spent the morning with the fatbike in Palmer Park... HOLY SHIT!
This flatlander is hooked! I haven't done any type of downhill for 20 years when I lived in Pittsburgh.
Unfortunately, I slid into a rock on my last run and blew out my rear tube... and forgot my spares in Chicago. So, I think I'm going to find a bike shop and then someplace to get lunch nearby and then maybe come back with Melons.

I found this place in the Colorado section looking for crawl spots. RCC always comes through!
