Had a blast today in Colorado Springs... played my flute for the daytime moon (it's in the little square between my hand, flute, leather strip & mountain), rode the hell outa the fatbike slowly up trails and then fast down them! Blew out a rear tube on a rock so found a bike shop and now lunch at The Whistle Pig Brewery!

And now, back to Palmer Park to give Melons a run.

So you ride a fat bike, bought an NX 250 for a moto, and play the flute and do CGI for a living. Had you not mentioned you smoke a shit ton of weed, I'm pretty sure we'd have figured it out.

i have enough money saved to jump someplace, but im scared to death of living hand to mouth or just failing in general. can relatively easily get a job in a city with my skillset, but a city is the last place i want to be. especially with a little blue heeler. he would hate it... so effectively starting completely over at 43, but this time i have alot more stuff then when i was in the same spot about 20 years ago.

salida colorado... i should just rent a uhaul and head out there. i love that area.
Yeah, I kind of forgot the part about having a bunch more crap. I moved out here in an old Dodge van but I think now I could move with one small U-haul if I sell some stuff.

I could never do a city. Longmont, where I live, is turning into one so it's time to go. Jobs are easier to find here, but I just don't belong here anymore. Salida would be awesome.

After I saw the flute part, I decided to find my old harmonica, that I have no idea how to play. Time to master it

Damn I didn't need to see that pic of the front range! I've been *this* close to packing up and moving back to Fort Collins a few times. I just finished college and got the notice last week that my paid internship with Stanley Black and Decker is ending next Friday. I'm really trying to decide if it's wise to move to CO just before the snow starts to fly, with no job lined up and limited cash flow..

So, I just spent the morning with the fatbike in Palmer Park... HOLY SHIT!
This flatlander is hooked! I haven't done any type of downhill for 20 years when I lived in Pittsburgh.
Unfortunately, I slid into a rock on my last run and blew out my rear tube... and forgot my spares in Chicago. So, I think I'm going to find a bike shop and then someplace to get lunch nearby and then maybe come back with Melons.

I found this place in the Colorado section looking for crawl spots. RCC always comes through!
Take your time and see and do stuff now...don't regret not doing it when you're old and too settled in. Another day(s) or couple hours...don't be in a hurry to reach any destination, enjoy everything around you everyday.

If you're near Sacramento area, hit me up and we'll ride some MTB or roadbike on the greenbelt.

Dang that thick dark beer and food looks great and I'm not even hungry! What is the pie looking food?

Yeah man, I am enjoying it out here... I'm going hiking tomorrow to some hot springs and then mountain biking and riding the dirtbike all next week and going out shooting with a friend who I grew up with.

I'll definitely get touch to go riding!
I want to get out and bike, dirtbike, 4x4, hike, camp, rc, white water rafting... Several times a month while I'm in California!

It was a really f'n good chicken pot pie that was savoury as hell!

I may end up in CO... I've always liked it but this time was especially good.
I talked with lots of friendly people and really enjoyed my time there.

I have also enjoyed Albuquerque a lot.

Some pics of Melons running at Palmer Park on my last night in CO. The rock there is unlike anything i have run... so different than what I am used to. I have never been on such a high traction surface... I was blown away by the lines Melons was pulling!

I also finally understand why so many people are comfortable with low speed brushed motors... I didn't need 85% of the power I had on hand. Very different from my normal driving.

ReSome pics from today.
The co pilot my daughter gave me.
My Albuquerque parking in the shade.
My bike security (there's a hardened chain running through the hitch, the Moto, and the fatbike... needed to be a bit longer to reach the rode bike.)
Some really cool Mexican mask.
Had a delicious breakfast of carne adovada and posole.
Went to an awesome wedding on a beautiful estate with some pretty cool and welcoming people. I actually ran into an old Chicago friend there! (girl with tattoos)
