Default Ebay question

Bought an item last Friday night. Usps tracking number is in the system and was accepted.

Here's the weird part and a first for me. The seller refunded the shipping cost because he wanted to provide a free shipping.

Is it him just being a nice guy or a scam?

Hard to say, you will be the first to know and it sounds like nonsense either way.

I don't see how that could be a scam.

The sellers feedback rating tells alot! Chances are he is a great guy if the rating is close to 100%

Oh. his rating is 100% with just over 125 feedbacks.

But it is just so odd to have my shipping refunded after the package was sent for no apparent reasonings other than niceness which is such rarity these days.

Really do hope it the case of being Mr. NICE GUY.

Can't speak for your exact situation, but I've had similar happen once. Seller shipped my item and then sent me a partial refund so that I only paid actual shipping. The item was very small/light weight, so the advertised shipping was quite a bit higher than actual. I had agreed on the price ahead of time, so the refund was just because the seller was a stand up dude.

Sometimes I would guess and put a generic shipping charge from CA. to NY. Figuring that would be the most expensive. But if buyer was in CA. and the charge was way over, then I would refund the difference.
If was only a few dollars I would just keep it, because by them buying it they agreed to my shipping charge anyways.

I also refunded shipping charges once because I forgot to ship the item within the 2 day handling guarantee that also shows up in your Ebay ad. I shipped it 4 days after they paid and it was only around $10. So i refunded them.

There are still some nice people left out there.

Got his reply today. He refunded the $7, the cost of USPS priority small box as a thank you for buying his item.

Nice! Now you need to pay it forward at some point.

Locked up RC did this for me. The e-mail said no one should have to pay that much on shipping for hex tips and scale hardware, and something or other about their shipping calculator malfunctioning.
