I have couple of fatshark 5.8 rigs. They do fine out in the open with impressive range BUT Big BUT... If anything solid gets in between you and the transmitter the signal will drop. This even happened 10 feet from me in my house when I tried to go around an island in my kitchen. Also outside when I just went over a hill. I understand this is a trait of 5.8 in general, so any similar setup would perform the same of course. So look for older tech with the lower 900 band and it will be better for your application- this could require a license and also a big antenna. |

If you have access to a GoPro camera w/WiFi, you can run the signal to your phone or tablet. Least expensive way to go. |

The under the floor excursion might do well with wifi since it penetrates walls.

just would need a receiver.. I haven't played with one yet soo I'm totally winging it.. Hoping to get it right the first time.. Quote:
No Go-Pro. Didn't think about going thru walls but I'd guess that is the same as going thru the floor. I do know I have a pile of Bricks right under the bathtub which is in the middle of the house. | ||

I decided to start out cheap as I could afford.. Tactic has a few things and bundled up with a micro Servo ran me $200. Headset also records.. Made up a adjustable mount and servo connected to my Steering. By no means is this a Perfectly Clear HD camera and headset but.. For more than Half the price of a Great set, it's pretty good and Interesting.. The Steering really helps using FPV view.. Now to find a way to use it for Backing up... |
