Is Losi/Horizon Going Bankrupt?

Does anyone know what Horizon Hobby/ Losi's issue is? Are they going belly up? I went to order a few parts for my Losi Night Crawler and they had none of the parts I wanted. Out of 79 parts listed 54 were either backordered or unavailable. Not very good stats for a current vehicle.

Especially so as this is where they make a lot of their money. The BJR and RR stuff seems to have been out for ages too...

It is odd that there are so many parts for a current model that they sell that are listed as unavailable. So buy today, break it tomorrow, throw it on the shelf the next day because the part is not available. Most likely not good for sales.

I'm going to guess that they are being held up by the same bs that is hanging up the axial stuff. I heard it's due to relations with the manufacturing plants in China have broken down, I seriously doubt every major manufacturer is all going bankrupt at the same time

i might be wrong but i think the losi worm drive stuff has been out of production for awhile.

It's happening to many manufacturers in RC. I'm sure tax refund season isn't helping matters.

There's a night crawler 2.0 out, so everything is available again.

About losi going bankrupt, they just released a few new trucks so that's highly unlikely.

And the issue with axial, there plant got seized one day so there dealing with that.

I emailed Horizon to ask them about a couple parts listed as "unavailable" will report when they respond. Yes the parts are for the Night Crawler 2. I never knew there was a discontinued one.

Yes there is the original night crawler, came out back in 09'.

I needed the ESC mounting plate, listed as "unavailable" then I was going to add a few parts to make it worth the order. Then everything I thought to add was either BO or also unavailable.

Check ebay or other stores online. Usually how it works.

You're looking for parts on a discontinued vehicle. So it's not a shocker that Losi says they are unavailable. As 84yoda said, check eBay.

So, no, they aren't going out of business because they're not offering parts for a discontinued vehicle...

Jato, the first NC is discontinued but there is a NC 2.0 out now. It uses the same parts as the original NC.

Probably used up all their old NC stock to supply the NC 2.0 for a few months, realized this still ain't happening and said nevermind.

Losi's crawler was never a big seller. And those that bought it said it's too slow or killed motors and sold it off. I image there's a few closets full of trashed Losi trucks.

The Losi Night Crawler 2.0 was released sometime back in mid to late 2015 according to a few online reviews - so it's been around for a while if you consider there isn't a huge difference between the version 1.0 and 2.0 releases...

I don't know where the OP is looking but Horizon Hobby has nearly every significant part for the NC 2.0 in stock on their site right now. The only potentially necessary part that is on backorder is the rear axle shafts and I don't know how often they actually need to be replaced.

It's not just Losi, I've been doing some shopping and seems like a lot of stuff is out of stock or backordered. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these companies use the same OEM supplier.

I bought it from Horizon a couple months ago! They still have the Vehicle for the full price available. So they have discontinued it with no word of that fact? Looks likes Losi is not a brand to purchase.
