I had problems with the 95 GMC, I had one of these FSD Heatsync installed and that corrected my fuel problems I said intercooler, I meant turbo, it was overheating and causing problems, the FSD unit corrected the overheating Last edited by kgb424; 12-11-2018 at 01:06 AM. |

I remember some kid calling in when I worked at Autozone. I asked what vehicle he was working on. "1990 Mazda RX-7." What part you looking for? "Rod bearings and piston rings." Told him I saw that one a mile away... Unless he dropped a SBC or something in it. "What? You can put a V8 in an RX-7?" Yeah.

Wednesday was a nice sunny day and I got 99 percent of dash board back together and remembered I forgot too connect one of heater control cables, its a easy fix cause its on the side of the heater core box And need to reconnect the water lines to the heater core, but its been raining and windy for the last 2 days and just too cold too work on the truck waiting for it too warm up again and to finish the job Last edited by kgb424; 04-07-2017 at 08:30 PM. |

It's awesome when you hydrolock one that's going maximum RPM. Picking up all the pieces is fun to watch, anyway.

ok it would hydro locked, it would stall out and shut off at 65 to 70 miles a hour, keeping up with traffic, I would drive in the right lane So when it stalled out, you would lose power steering and power brakes, I would pull off the side of the highway and let it sit I would have to open the hood and let it cool for 5 or 10 minutes, then it would start right up and idle normal and run at 65 for a little until it would stall out again and if you didn't let it cool off, it was just really hard to start and would have a ruff idle if did get it started It would stall out at highway speeds, on very hot days it would stall out at 45 miles a hour coming off the highway I had the Heat Sync installed and that stopped the hydro lock problems Last edited by kgb424; 04-08-2017 at 09:57 PM. |

You sure it wasn't shutting off due to heat soak? Hydrolock involves water entering the intake / engine...

Listen Chicken wings I have 2 trucks a 87 Toyota 4 x 4 with a 22R with a weber, no smog and AC removed, and is my daily driver The other is a 95 GMC 3/4 ton 4 x 4 Sierra with a 4.65 turbo diesel and was my Dad's truck, and I'm keeping it And use it for long trips and when the roads are really bad, the Toyota floats on the snow and is too light some times The GMC plows thru the snow and is too heavy some times I need a truck for the winters here in Northern Nevada and Northern California Last edited by kgb424; 04-08-2017 at 11:28 PM. |

When you hydrolock an engine, you generally trash the ENTIRE engine. Rods bend, pistons hit things they aren't supposed to hit, and if you're really unlucky, you can bend or even break the crank.

Looks like Carma once again ****ed me I reconnected the water lines, started the Toyota it warmed up as usual, came up to normal temperature, then it started pissing out Antifreeze all over the passenger side of the truck, it looks like its coming from the top of the heater core where the O-rings and the heater core tubes connect So the whole ****ing thing has too come out and I got too start the whole ****ing thing over again So ****ing pissed off its not even funny, I can't even look at the ****ing Toyota right now **** me here we go again, try to save money and get ****ed for it good Last edited by kgb424; 04-09-2017 at 03:09 PM. |

| Re: Napa pissed me off This kit just relocates the injection pump control module to an area that gets more air flow so that the control module doesn't heat soak and shut down. The turbo has nothing to do with the issues that you were having. |

I called the radiator shop, and he suggested I should of pressure tested the radiator, or at least should ran the truck and checked for leaks before I put the dash back together He said to bring the core by, so he try and seal the tubes with new O-ring cause I might not had them seated right, cause it started leaking when it was under pressure I will have to take it apart again but not today |

You've just broke one of the rules of pipe fitters "pressure/leak test everything that will transfer/hold liquids". The mechanics you didn't use probably would've done this for you, since it's a common oversight for the backyard handyman that's just gotta...you know prove he can for less. The next rule is even easier to brake, "don't stick your fingers anywhere you wouldn't stick your penis". |
