Default SSD Third Member for Baja/Rock Rey Review

First I'll start with how I got one. I was doing my usual posting around the board and got a message from SSD asking if I would like to try one of their third members? Only catch was I had to do a review.

So here it is. My review on the SSD third member.

First the packaging,

Everything was individually wrapped to keep it from scratching. A+ for packaging

Then there is bearing size. Much larger on both sides. Very nice as the stockers are way too small. These should hold up well to all kinds of running. A for bearing size.

Up next, the install. His took a whole 5 minutes. The only issues was breaking the overload of loctite on the drive shaft to slide it off. After it was installed I seem to have a tighter mesh. Not sure if this was planned but it's definitely not too tight. It feels as it would if I went it to shim it only I didn't use any shims. A+ for ease of install.

So that's it for the install. One of the easiest things I have ever done. I have only run one pack through it so far but it feels great and I haven't had any issues. I will be back to update after a few more runs but so far so good.

I have to agree about install.... mine was the smoothest install on my yeti. Wish I had done the wide, but I won't complain, great product!

I can also add my SSD install was super easy. Inner bearing was a little tight but got it in no problem. Getting the stock driveshaft grub screw out on the other hand was a pain. Had to use a mini torch to break the seal, since the whole grub screw has loctite on it. I did add one 0.1mm shim on the pinion ontop of the 0.1mm shim that came factory and mesh is perfect now.

Good job SSD!

Love my SSD third. Put about 7 pack through it. Now I can stop worrying about my bearing on 3s.
