I ride a '06 GT I-Drive 4 5.0 Disk. great bike except for the fork. the fork is rated to give 4" of travel. so far I can only get about 2", and when I hit a bump I know it. plus the fork weighs almost 6 pounds. for a 100mm travel fork on a bike with what might as well be slightly slackened XC geometry. I want a Marzocchi XC600 to replace it. the '07 model can be had for about $230 on jenson, and it's more adjustable and lighter than the fork on the bike now. oh, and it needs a riser bar to keep the brake levers out of the top tube. other than that it's a great bike my 29er is a stock '08 Redline Monocog. it's awesome, except for steep hills or trying to bump the tire over something by wheelying it |
