Default TRX-4 In stores

It looks like the TRX-4 1st delivery of display/demo trucks started arriving in stores today.

Here are two shops that got it already. There are several more that have them listed as arriving.

I'd like to see the feedback that starts pouring in.

Will help me decide if I should start looking into this truck.

Was told mine will be in on Monday. Maybe have it Tuesday and I'll see if I can't wreck it.

I'm baffled that Traxxas still doesn't have the TRX-4 in the Model Showroom on their website.

If they are a test drive dealer, that's not true.

Edit, look him up on Traxxas site to see what he's supposed to be providing to customers!!

Probably busy gettin it dun, listing it on their site is secondary to actual product, but would help their marketing for sure lol.

I ran a Demo today. LHS says June 9 at the earliest. I was excited before now I'm really excited. On 2s and foams that are too soft for my tastes she did really well. Then I realized the diffs weren't fully locked. Flipped the switch then things really got fun. The body is heavy but detailed. I love the full inner fenders and floorboards. The shocks are super smooth. Overall, pretty great right out of the box.

Had to go into Spokane yesterday so I stopped by the Hobbytown USA and they didn't have a demo, in fact, the guy didn't even know what the TRX-4 was. #sad

Hobbytown USA is such a large franchise chain of hobby shops that hire a vast array of minimum wage workers, it'd be like asking a kid at McDonald's if he can tell you anything about how to make a great steak. I almost watched a guy have a panic attack when I asked if I could see all of his clamping servo horns with a 24t spline. After a long awkward pause he regained full consciousness then managed to mumble out, "I think we have some SERVERS over here".

Maybe I'm lucky, but I regularly go into one close to me and pick their brains on various builds. The guys I ask very rarely don't know how to help me. It's also possible the stuff I'm asking is easy, but I love these guys.

My issue with Hobbytown is really prices, but I expect that from a brick and mortar. Gotta pay the bills and all that jazz.

Lol, yeah it's pretty hit or miss. I had the following:
"I need a 5mm 32p pinion for my Slash".
"Uhhhh you mean these?" *Holds up Traxxas 3mm pinions*.
"No, a 5mm one, my Slash has a Tekin motor with a 5mm shaft".
"oh, uhhh..."

It ended up with me just looking through the box o' pinions myself to find it. I have a pretty decent feeling that if i go to look at the TRX-4 and have a question, I'd be better off just tearing into the truck right then and there before asking anyone about it.

The couple Hobbytown's in our area, one is all morons and have trouble finding a part unless I provide the brand and part number, the other only has one employee who knows crawlring and iirc he's no longer there. The owner is clueless too. And yeah their prices are usually high, like higher than any other independent owned LHS.

HT guy in one unboxing vid called the new Traxxas TRX4, the "TR4"

Thankfully, we have one good independent LHS in our area, who has good crawler stock too.
