| Re: News thread Why do you think they age so rapidly while they are in office? They are on the job 24/7/365. Obviously they aren't actively working all of that time, but they are always on call if something comes up. Their office travels with them wherever they go.

| Re: News thread They are not on the job 24/7/365. They sleep and have personal lives that they schedule around their Presidential duties. Are they on call 24/7/365? For sure. But that doesn't mean they go without down time.

Obama was up around 7, got his intelligence briefings, worked out, had breakfast, officially in the office by 9:30, worked until 6:30, took an hour or two in the evening to eat and hang out with his family, then went to an upstairs office to work until 1-2 am. This was his regular work schedule every day that he was in Washington. Trump is putting in roughly the same amount of hours, but his schedule is different. Bush and Clinton did their time in similar fashion. Nothing is more important than the presidents duties. If they are needed, they go. It doesn't matter what they are doing or when they are doing it. On the rare occasion that they do get "down time", it's only for a day or two, and they still get intelligence briefings, and still have to make sure that their responsibilities are taken care of. They are never out of contact, never fully "away from the office". Like I said, their office travels with them. Where ever they go there are roughly 200 people following. Staffers, advisers, assistants, reporters, security, etc etc.

You know Obama's schedule off the top of your head? That's...odd. Presidents get down time, daily. It might be a few minutes or a few hours, but they get it. Hell, at the least, he gets to Tweet when he's taking a shit.

No, don't be silly. It was just the most comprehensive list of a presidents normal work day that I came across. In presidential terms it's downtime, but it's not the same downtime that you or I get. They simply can never escape from their duties. W would take power naps in the afternoon, but there was always the chance that it would be interrupted. Same with vacations. They're still doing their job, just in a different place. Even Trump admitted that it was a much harder job than he thought it would be. He works longer hours and doesn't get any real time off.

Oh and I don't nap, but I need my 6 to 8 hours of sleep or I'm either useless or angry. It's like hangry, but because of the lack of sleep. Slangry?

There's not enough money in the world to pay me to be the POTUS. Not that anyone would actually allow me to do that... I usually get a nap in on Sat or Sun. Could be 30 minutes, could be 3 hours. I never know and I never care. It is what it is. |

I'm not sure how saying he changed his haircut a year ago equates to denouncing that particular style...

This senator (a black, female Democrat) said she hopes Trump is assassinated yet she will not resign. I don't think she should have a choice. If anybody publicly states they they hope their boss is assassinated they would be fired. US lawmaker Chappelle-Nadal's Trump assassination post investigated - BBC News |

Cops with black power fists raised in the air to support Colin Kaparnik. No media outrage. No riots. How's this not racist? |

meh, I'd say most people are prejudice... it's human nature. Some people are bigots... And by modern definition (and why you keep hearing that black people can not be racist)... only people in the majority, who are in power and able to effect the lives of others, can be racist. |
