Need Help! Anyone Know Bananaclip or live near Elkins, WV?

Good day RCC. I haven't been very active lately but wanted to reach out and see if you guys could help me out.

Long story short I commissioned member "Bananaclip" to build me a rig. We had dealt many times with trades/sales over the years and never a hiccup.

As of spring 2017, I have lost any and all communication with the member.
We used to text/talk darn near daily about the status of my build. Then poof. Gone. I know there was some personal things going on with his marriage but that is the extent I know.

Basically I am trying to recoup any possible parts. This was going to be my top-o-the-line u4 tribute build to some of the nicest rigs on RCC. But now that is all gone to S**T.

List of parts includes:
-HH Trailmaster BLE with 3500 trail master motor
-SSD Scale trans
-SCX10II axles
-VP 1.9 Method wheels w/ KLRs
-Stainless links (steering, uppers and lowers)
-Scx10 trans with metal gears and slipper
-Holmes hobbies bls400 servo
-(6) losi comp crawler shocks
-nb tj front clip red
-nb jk front clip with doors tan
-gcm tcase
-gearhead 5" & 2" light bar
-DLUX sway bar kit
-TF2 fuel cell box
-(2) tamiya wild willys drivers
-fab tabs
-R2J winch anchor
-wraith shifters and battery and super awesome bull horns
-yeah racing nos tank
-(2) 3d printed race seats
-axial exo radiator and light bar
-various drive shafts
-flysky 3ch receiver
-proline fuel cell and nos tank

Do I file a police report in his county? I am on the other side of the country.

Please advise. I've exhausted all methods of communication with him. Cell is no longer in service, hasn't logged into RCC since January, emails are not being replied to, actual USPS mail is not being replied to. At this point I may just have to suck it up and call it a complete loss...but I'm trying not to.

Any help is appreciated.

yes, file a police report with his local PD...I did this awhile back on a deal that went bad with a member here and within a few days I had my items.

Contacted the PD there and they said I need to contact the magistrates office which is closed on weekends. Called his landline (per interwebs and address) and left messages. I'm thinking that this is not going to end in my favor.

Definitely going to try to find him. With the divorce that I'm assuming he's going thru, I doubt anyone else is even on the radar for him. Sucks that his now Ex wont answer my calls/emails either though.

No update. Was told only way to do anything was to goto small claims court or sue him. I'm on the other side of the country. Going to court seems like it'll cost more than what my parts of worth to me. Guess I'm SOL.

That pd is messed up, its their job to take reprts of theft and all that jazz, sounds like someone didnt want to do a bunch of paperwork

Can't you file the claim in your local court and make him come to you?

Small claims can many times be done by mail. Small claims is cheap and easy.
BUT all said if the courts don't find him, a worthless judgement for you, a bad mark on his credit.

Well update on this. After emailing and sending a copy to his address, his wife (assuming now EX) has actually responded! I sent the email/letter back at the end of May.

We will see what comes of this. Thanks for the support and what not guys/gals.

Yeah, been doing this for years and first real burn. I'm pretty cautious...these were things totally out of nowhere and only way I could've prevented was if I had a crystal ball...

She basically was apologetic for taking long to reply. Also mentioned its been crazy this year with them. However shes got "some RC stuff" that may or may not be what I'm missing but she said shes sending anything and everything RC to make things "right". She didn't provide any update or info on bananaclip so I asked again.

Who knows what this "mystery" box will contain lol.

You should ask her for pictures. So you can see if its just junk and hopefully no one elses stolen property.

I just hope it will be better than a RC3WD "Mystery box".
