So scx10ii kit waiting to be assembled. I was going to be lazy and buy links to convert it to the 11.8" WB. According to the product information. Quote:
Not bitching, I just smiled a little when they told me that, though someone else might find it as stupid as I did.

At least they give the option to change the size. They were actually pretty honest and sent you to à third party instead of bullshitting you or even sell you the stock links à second time Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

The state of the union at Axial seems to be freaking chaos. This is classic. Quote:

I get making your own links, but how many tools do I need to complete the process? Say if I wanted 1/4 titanium, and 4mm threads on either end? Not that I go through a lot of links, but it would be nice to try any body I want.

I just wanted the rears to match the fronts, and I don't feel like working in the shop Christmas morning so my kid can assemble the kit. Maybe a little less judgy and a little more ready, you would have noticed I wanted to be lazy. The point of the thread is not that couldn't get links, its that they market adjustability, but don't support that. I though it was funny. Quote:
I make links out of 3mm titanium all thread, that is 100% through threaded into delrin tubing. For that I need a cutoff wheel, and drill. I have make links in my lathe, that required a die, cut off wheel and the lathe. You could make links with as little as a tap, and handsaw. Last edited by Ditchrat; 12-21-2017 at 11:08 AM.

| Re: Lol Axial Not sure if you were around when the Yeti was released with an optional 2speed trans. The hype was huge around here. Axial was coming out with their first IFS/SRA rig. It was going to compete with the VTH. It was advertised as having an optional to speed transmission. That transmission didn’t exist until he aftermarket part came out iirc. It was much later, and only after that would Axial have released that 2-speed you speak of. Perhaps you get my point now

| Re: Lol Axial 8-32 all thread to test then transfer the measurements to a link builder. It's not like the guys that can build Ti links don't do that already. |

Its not about how many tools it takes to do it, it's more about feeling like you accomplished something when it was done. Built not bought

Remember when we cut down 8-32 all thread, sleeved it with a piece of auto brake line tubing and used Revo rod ends ? It wasn't THAT long ago

I use a die, a hacksaw, and a cordless drill. Order 4mm rod and 4mm die from fleaBay China and wait 3 weeks. Now measure twice and cut once, chuck them and cut the threads, then screw them into the Traxxas or RPM rod ends. Done.
