Watch this, a fairly good explanation of what happened. The crane was to lift the equipment onto the bridge, not lift the bridge itself.

Very sad when something like this happens. Blame or no blame sucks to go that way. RIP

Very happy tar the same time though. I counted all but I think 2 cars where people did not get out to help.All walks wanted to help. Seen a ton of vids where it's better to video than to help someone else. Not saying jump into a burning building but cmon fellow humans, help is needed no matter who you are, color, $$ in your pocket or otherwise.

Regardless the garage door is not going to raise without catching on the hitch.

youll notice teh lower half is not garage door, only the top panel will raise.
bottom half appears to be some 2" foam or something cut out and sitting on the ground.
