That pretty much sums up 99% of the businesses in the US. Nobody, except maybe mom and pops that are quickly dying, GAF about anything. And like you said earlier, it's so difficult to find people that want to work and care about their work. And companies don't want to pay the people that work hard and care so it's a vicious cycle of not GAF and not having a reason to.

Pretty much how my company is now. In 7 months we had 6 employees quit in management level that all were with the company from 10+ years to 32 years. And this office only has 45 employees, so that's a pretty big loss. Also the company did nothing trying to match the pay to keep them here. Instead we got some kids now who know nothing/let alone a good work ethic and will work for half the pay. Those employees tried caring but when the company itself doesn't care about the employees that been here for a long time. They all moved on. Sad times. I've been with this company almost 30 years and see how they really don't care.

I worked for a "mom and pop" company. When "pop" got cancer and the management went to employees younger and whom had been there less time than I, I knew things would go bad. Didn't expect to get fired, the way I did, but I did. It is REALLY hard to find anyone, in any industry, that cares about what they do. I got fired because I cared. Go figure...
