Boring SUV's. To me, Jeep at least still looks a little different than the others. Last edited by 59sled; 03-27-2019 at 07:46 PM. |

Yeah. Modern cars are a disgrace, and they cant play the MPG card, it is simply laziness and greed, and stupid buyers. 20 of those cars should have flopped big time. With a big lotto win, even a world record one, i doubt i would buy anything new, at least for driving in public, a track car i might be able to find among the newer cars. But a car i would be seen in, i think i would go for original or discretely modified classics. |

The Drive used to be a pretty cool site about cars. It has turned into a freaking liberal retard blog. Take this article as an example entitled "You Don't Need A Full-Size Pickup Truck, You Need a Cowboy Costume": https://www.thedrive.com/news/26907/...cowboy-costume |

Yeah, because nobody ever needs to haul sheets of plywood, lumber, mulch, etc. And, here's a shocker, actual cowboys still exist. And it's one of the hardest jobs out there IMO.

I didn't even know that thing was a butt plug because, frankly, why would I (And please don't explain why you do), but as far as I'm concerned, cheap oil and an expensive filter is the right answer to almost any question. Any synthetic oil is more or less far better than you need, but you can never keep your oil too clean. I always run cheap synthetic oil and a quality filter in my cars. |

I dragged out the Deadbolt ( Dolt, as I refer to it) to get it ready for an upcoming trail ride. I couldn't turn the spur gear by hand, I thought maybe the motor was seized from playing in the water last fall. After taking off the driveshafts and still couldn't turn either axle, I opened up the diff covers and found this. Completely my fought for 1) avoiding playing in deep water, I f-n HATE deep water but I did it anyway last year. Never again. 2) Not tearing everything apart the day after playing in the water and cleaning everything. I have new bearings coming from RPP, the rings and pinions are soaking in WD40, hopefully they can be saved. |

BTW WD40 isn't lube. It's "water displacement" hence the WD. You're probably better off soaking them in PB Blaster or your penetrating oil of choice. | |

| Re: the WTH thread is back! That's my go-to homebrew for taking apart rusty cars. The carrier bearings were seized on both spools plus one pinion bearing was extra crunchy. I took them to work today and soaked them in Kroil then used an induction coil to get the spool bearings nice and hot, they came off in pieces but at least the spools will be re-usable. The ring and pinions I'm not so sure about. I'll hit them with a brass wire brush tomorrow. |
