I don’t know if this was posted yet or not but a lot of good info. The planetary rear end sounds sick. For those complaining about the 4s it will take two 2 cells also.

That desert truck is incredible. Hell, that'd be cool just sitting on the coffee table with the body off. LOL

That is a stunning truck. Bar none. Sorta pains me to say it, but hats off to Traxxas - well done! Both asthetically and mechanically. Planetary gears incorporated into the diffs for no torque twist? Just wow.

Those stupid sc wheels ruin it for me.

While everything else is so exquisite those wheels stick out like a sore thumb.

I understand why they used them but they still look fugly and ruin the whole scale appearance.

Even so I'd get one if I had the money.

Ok so I'm glad I ain't the only one ready to throw my money at this.

I thought this used 2.2 beadlocks? What is this talk of "SC" wheels?

The outside diameter of the wheel is 2.2” and the inside diameter is 3”. Gives you better handling. Depending on how big the front knuckles are you might be able to fit at 2.2 wheel over it.

It's up on the Traxxas website. The price shows $800 instead of $750 like at the show.

https://traxxas.com/products/landing...-desert-racer/

Here's the first video.

If I made a venn diagram of my RC collection, this would fit perfectly into the intersection of "it's awesome, must get it" and "have absolutely no need for it".

Damn Traxxas for making me want a truck I never knew I wanted.

Man, why do I even have a bank account, should just have my direct deposit going to Traxxas...

This desert truck looks awesome! Thankfully this truck did not get the techno-puke paint scheme that the E-Revo 2.0 did.

Well now I have the dilemma of deciding on batteries. Maybe you fellas can advise?

I sold my 6S XMaxx before I deployed along with my 3S batteries. I've got a 8S Xmaxx with a Max6 waiting for me when I get home. Thinking I'll stay with 3S so I can use the same batteries.

What size 3S batteries does this take?

Traxxas said 4S to 6S, but it can also take 2 2S batteries. I don't know if we know the battery box dimensions yet.

I don't have any 4S batteries nor do I have a charger that will charge them fast enough for me. So if I buy the UDR like I want then I'll have to buy 4S batteries and/or upgrade my charger as well.

Same here! I feel like I need one just because it's so cool.

Totally. This would be my third trophy truck, and I barely have a use for the first two. That intersection is getting crowded.

This truck is great. Gets the go slow guys on board with the go fast crew. Sadly, this put the squelch on the scratch build trophy/trick tuck community, you can buy this for a lesser outlay of cash. My money says those are running 6s, they're carrying some serious distance on a few on those jumps, +40ish mph I'd bet. (Can't help it, most all the guys that put up "cool" videos only go about 18 mph for their footage, in slo mo) FVP view is awesome as well. Hopefully coupons will make the price point within most people's grasp. Coolest thing is my 1 car builds scale up pretty close to these. Scale desert races be on the horizon, matey......

Coupons? Traxxas doesn't allow coupons.
