I always thought "Chopped" bordered on ridiculous although I do like Ted Allen and Amanda Freitag.

I've been watching a lot of "Beat Bobby Flay" as I find the interaction between all the cast amusing and I walk away thinking "Hmmm... I gotta try making that..."

A couple of recent inspirations:

Fesenjoon (I'd substitute toasted almonds for walnuts. I hate walnuts!)

Chicken Pho

Last night, they had where the winner of Chopped, went on to "Beat Bobby Flay". It was all part of the same show. Bobby Flay had to make the signature dish of his opponent which was Bibimbap

I've been on a run with Amazon Prime Video. I just got done with the RI "Battlestar Galactica." I'm now bouncing between "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager." I also found out that "Babylon 5" is available through Prime.

What's a sci-fi nerd to do???

Have you seen "Farscape"?

I bought the box back in 2011.

I had seen about 90% of it prior, but it was really nice to watch them in order, and not miss anything - and see the extras.

(I'm assuming you've seen "FireFly", or else you wouldn't be referring to yourself as a sci-fi nerd... )

I vaguely remember "Farscape" and I never got into "Firefly".

I have the boxed Firefly with the movie...watch them all back-to-back once a year or so. Wish it would have run longer!

Started watching Boardwalk Empire last weekend, finishing up S2 now. It's really good, I think...especially if you bounce it off of actual history of the period.

And still trying to catch up with Red Green

Oh man firefly!!!! I have been looking for a small serenity ship to put on my desk at work next to the milano and the falcon ;)
And I need a capt reynolds figure to put next to starlord and solo at my house. Imagine if those 3 ever met...

Skinnyj you are doing yourself a disservice by not seeing that!!!

I havent been watching much sci-fi but my wife and I have just started on Homeland. Still on season one and it's pretty good.
My son recently started watching ghost adventures on travel channel. I watched back when it started but it hasn't been the same since nick left.

I agree, FireFly was the shit...

Absolutely loved that whole concept - and the cast was incredible.

Morena Baccarin, whoa!

(Before DeadPool!)

For the uninitiated, I consider it to be almost like Han Solo's adventures in another universe before meeting the characters from Star Wars...

Or, the Wild West set in outer space.

MNPCTech built a Serenity / FireFly tribute PC that I have a poster for:

Love Firefly and FarScape. Have all box sets.
FarScape twice tho.
When the first season came out on DVD, it was disc by disc at 4 episodes each.
Second season come out 2 disc at time.
A very expensive collection.
Now they are all available together.
Yup, bought those too. Saves a a lot of space.

And for a Small serenity ship.

Wow we have some really niche nerds in here haha love it!
Nice ship but would dominate my desk haha I was thinking more like hot wheels ship size. Tjats the falcon and milano I have. Hmmm... I'm sure if the browncoats got together we could convince hotwheels to do a serenity. I mean they just released gru's car from dispicable me. Seems anything is possible at that point lol

I digress...

Skinnyj watch firefly dude. I think its on netflix or maybe somebody here would loan it to you. I would if I had it. (Hey at least I've seen it!)

Based on the surreal nature of much about FarScape, I'm of the firm belief that the people behind it did loads of hallucinogens...

The Jim Henson Company (Yes, the Muppet people) was heavily involved... and practically everyone in it was Australian or from New Zealand, except the lead actor.

I thought it was the most "adult" oriented of all the TV sci-fi series, genuinely perverse much of the time.

I don't know if anyone here remembers this gorgeous Amazon of a woman from Mad Max 2:

Well, she plays a plant in FarScape, and basically is in a state of complete arousal in direct sunlight:

Yes, yes, and Holy crap that was HER?!

yeah that show was... Out there. It was so loaded with inuendos... No. No it wasnt it was very blunt lol so much it was distracting to me. Okay maybe being 14 at the time had something to do with it hahaha

No! That wasnt the one. It was LEX! that show was straight dirty like an adult film with the x rated parts cut out! Barely!

LOLz, I've had LEX on Amazon Prime on a watchlist for many years, can't ever seem to get started on it!

The only fault I could find with FarScape is that there were a couple slow episodes, but - in a way that made it more realistic - if you can say such a thing about a bizarre space odyssey?

(Of course, with 88 episodes PLUS the Peacekeeper Wars 3-hour wrap-up mini-series at the end - it was bound to have a couple weak storylines)

I stumbled across "project Binky' from Bad Obsession Motorsports. Absolutely brilliant craftsmanship and that dry British sense of humor.

Still can't figure out who they keep referring to as the 'colonists'.. They lost Hong Kong about 21 years ago..

Jerry Seinfeld's
Comedians
in Cars
Getting Coffee
(on Netflix)

love this!
its like Jay Leno's Garage, but for normal people (not car nuts like us). i can watch with my wife, we see some interesting people just being themselves over a cup of joe with a friend, and i still get my fix of gearhead stuff. NICE! another very cool thing is the smooth jazz and B shots of coffee being made and poured. some good conversation too. all very relaxing way to wind down for the evening.
how did i not discover this sooner?! i knew about it but never actually sat down to watch it. now its nightly routine!

it also gives me an idea for a new thread, similar to my "cool car movies". ;)
