As a 70's kid, I was allowed to watch this show even though I'm sure that my Dad didn't approve of some of the more "urban" skits, music, and characters. But looking back now it's pretty cool to discover that some of those voices that I heard as a kid, were actually well-known entertainers that we all recognize from adulthood... Morgan Freeman, Gene Wilder, Joan Rivers, Mel Brooks, etc. It's also crazy to watch this now and almost 100% remember some of these skits and songs ( I would've been about 4 yrs old when first watching this show). I think that I actually had a thing for "Jennifer of the Jungle"... probably the first time that I saw that much skin on a woman ( besides what I saw on Sonny & Cher and Hee-Haw lol). Anyway... this won't resonate with anyone that didn't watch it or that doesn't remember it, but man.. the memories of this came flooding back when I saw it the other day.

Also... I doubt that anyone remembers this one but this was a short movie that I saw as a kid in the early 70's and still remember parts of it to this day... just didn't realize how creepy it really was. Nevertheless, this is a great memory for me. Not sure what the hell was in those pancakes but man, they must've been something else lol.

I still remember bits of the Electric Company myself!

Especially the Adventures of Letterman...

Scary, since my memory is so shot I normally don't remember squat from that era.

I thought it was funny when I discovered that Gene Wilder was the voice of Letterman lol. Wouldn't have meant anything to me as a kid but as an adult I assumed that I knew just about everything that he had ever done.

I also watched something on youtube regarding toys of the 70's and 80's and boy did that take me back. I didn't have too many toys when I was a kid but I sure do remember a lot of them that friends had or that I had wanted.

My wife is like you in that she hasn't retained too many older memories but I definitely do so I'm glad for that since I had a pretty decent childhood. Sadly though, I often can't remember very well what someone said to me on the phone just ten minutes after I hung up.

I was 11-12 yrs old in 1980. I do remember the 3-2-1 Contact intro/ theme song but that's about it. Not sure what I was doing after school but I assume that girls and other hobbies had me ignoring tv at that point. I'm actually surprised that I didn't watch it b/c I loved science and that kind of thing when I was young.

Pretty cool. He barely eeked out the other two manned dives, one way back in 1960.
