They also did it last year. If aftermarket chassis designers wanted to be allowed to run, they had to be approved by Axial and Sponsor the event.

Sounds like a convenient way to circumvent the rules of running a stock-ish Axial rig.

It's axial's event and axial makes the rules.

Besides stock is garbage. It's the boutique shops that make rigs great so it makes sense to let their parts into the event.

Seems the majority of scalers haven't figured out that starting with a kit or rtr is a money losing proposition anymore. Starting with s pile of parts you actually want and building it to your own specs makes for a solid rig.

Indeed, you still need to buy a axial, or lets say most start with a stock car, and then set off from there with aftermarket parts.
Very few people set off with a table top full of aftermarket parts,,,,, at least outside of in here on this forum.

However i do like the idea of a even playing field, must suck to be beaten by a worse driver only cuz he have the better parts on his rig.

Also why Formula 1 frustrate the hell out of me.

Also i must admit when a little RC car have a 2000 dollars price tag, then at least to me it enter the realm of a little silly to me, at least in my current financial situation ( which are a mess )

They'll approve anything for the right price.

I get it, the exposure at the event is really good and being able to showcase your bits against other vendors etc is good so whatever.

Pretty much. My current rig started as an SCX-10 kit, and now the only thing left Axial is my axles, the rest is all GCM.
