Where is Vaterra? Sleeping you say? On well.

I'll be picking up an Axial Raw Builders Kit instead. [shrug]
From Ascender to the SCX10 II? I think you'll be disappointed in the quality. Don't overlook the Venture when you decide to pull the trigger.

It really is amazing how quickly someone cares about this site again when that happens.

Can't wait to see it!

Man, Scouts were king where/when I was in school...nobody had a Jeep. Neighbor had three set up for off-road only. I had a '70 800, so nostalgic for me.

Yeah, I got a new Blazer, after my 3 Ascenders. Side by side it's quite revealing. But SO many options for Axial. I'm just super bummed Vaterra isn't keeping up. A lime-green Suburban???

Axial plastic is crap in comparison, and they just run screws into plastic tabs, like shock mounts, where Vaterra has a nut, and way better plastic. Just simple things like that. I find my Ascenders to be virtually bulletproof - I run the hell out of them. I have a new project coming online...SURPRISE!!

I would take a Scout over a Ford, but neither are my favorites. Jeep, Chevy, even Dodge. But Scout? I know there's a following, just like Toyota. Just not me. [shrug] Old prejudices die hard.

A Ford Raptor is just like a Yeti Cooler -- a sure sign you have WAY too much money to burn. In California we have SO many with more money than brains.

Well, now that we've (I) completely jacked this thread....

Yep it sounds like you already see the differences between Axial and everybody else!

We already have too many Jeep bodies and I have no interest in 99% of Toyotas.

I still see the same meme. It's asking me to join Cool Crawlin RC I.n.c. Maybe I can't see it because I haven't joined that?

Link works fine for me...

And as others have said, that intro video was really cool. Redcat's history is not what I would have expected.

This link works for me. Thanks!

The layout of this trucks borrows heavily from the Traxxas TRX-4. That's interesting because the SCX10 is usually what is copied.

I don't like the pumpkins on these axles. It looks like there are too many edges to get hung up on.

I haven't had issues with the pumpkins getting hung up on obstacles. They sit so high (higher than TRX4 pumpkins to be nit-picky) that compared to any non-portal axle, the difference is night and day.

Holy cow those are some thick, thick shock towers!

The fender wells are an odd design. The whole point of those, on top of looking scale, is to keep dirt and mud out of the body and off of the chassis. The Redcat inner fenders have gaping thru holes in them for the shocks. Again, kinda sums up Redcat's "almost there" designs.

Overall it looks pretty good though.

Also, I hope they include real body mounts. Velcro and magnets suck.

Yeah, those shock towers aren't going to be flexing much!

Like the motor placement, and those stock rims actually look good!

I agree magnets suck but I've had really good experience with velcro.

Now that I see that, i think this might be a deal breaker for me. The inner fenders on my trx4 do a phenomenal job, but it comes with a tradeoff of increased weight that's higher up. If the geb8 defenders don't protect the inner chassis, you get little benefit to offset the added weight.
