Who's all running a Gyro? I don't really like it with one.

Are these ever going to come back in stock? I go through this every year on my birthday in Late Feb. Decide I want a new RC. Everything I want is OOS from the holidays. End up not getting a RC for my birthday. Time is ticking down for me to drop the appropriate hints to my wife.

I was planning to on my build (via a Radiolink unit). I thought it might help the back end stay a bit more on track - what are you disliking about the behaviour?

I don't like the feel of it. I'm mainly running at lower speeds. More technical stuff. Just seems weird

I have a Radiolink gyroceiver as well, totally plan on using it. You know you can dial down the gyro effect right?

Reminds me I need a servo that can keep up... I wonder how a ds3218 would do... Might have to cannibalize my 79 ford for that, only for testing purposes.
Also still need a pinion that doesn't have a fat base.

It’s challenging to drive, fun to watch, pretty durable.my friends and I have 5 of them, and the trucks are just cool.I like the scale looks vs most anything else out there.

Found the associated spur and a protek 16t pinion at my LHS today! Best part was I had a coupon on my account from buying the pro kit there. Nice!
Just need a servo and paint! Then it will be time to

SEND IT!!!!

I just fitted an R6FG to my Baja Rey. With the stock servo, it would "waggle" slowly under power with the gyro all the way up. Pretty easy to dial it to a usable level, but the servo was much too slow.
I put a DS3225-sg (the fast low-profile one in) and wow what a difference - but had to dial the gyro down even more. The waggle at full setting was ridiculous.
But, with a little gyro dialled in and the rubber limiting straps i've put in the rear, it tracks well. I'm planning on replicating the same setup when I build my Kyosho.

I keep messing with the orientation of my rx and cant get it dialed. First I put it on the back of the cover, on its side. This caused it to compensate for roll. So if you would hold the truck and give it like a side-hill motion, the gyro would trigger.
Doesnt help.
Took it out and stuck it to the top of the cover. Upside down. No response from gyro whatsoever.
Gotta take it out one last time but jeezus the rx cover on the rampage pro is 7 screws minimum.
6 around the cover and one side of rear cage to allow clearance.
PITA.
Also having ESC probs.
Hw1060 brushed may have been fried by a hot motor.
I had a racing motor at 13turns and the ESC sizzled a little on my bench. Unplugged immediately but now its funky with no reverse and with no jumper it just goes WOT.
gotta get a new one and hope that was the problem.

Otherwise its a blast!!!

I didn't even bother with the rx box. I just mounted my rx and ESC right next to each other on the plate above the battery.

I'm planning on installing a Spektrum AVC rx soon to see if I like it.

Not really sure what's different. Looks the same to me.

Not really different ... it's the kit in RTR with some downgrades (front and motor plastic covers, plastic shocks, no sway-bars, blacked-out chrome parts) or more appropriately, the RTR upgraded with the kit's cage and body.

With this stupid virus locking me too far from my crawler spots, I finally clicked ... a Pro "kit" is on its way. Ordered locally, it'll be there way before the Carisma SCA-1E wheels I ordered for it (they passed through customs just the day before the lockdown) ... the provided wheel/tire combo will do in the meantime.

Nothing fancy inside, just a Dynamite ESC and 15T from a previous VT100 or the Twin Hammers. Still not ran yet, waiting for a Yeti interior and Team Associated spur (the Kyosho spur is good on mine, but damn that thing is noisy as hell even while turning the wheels by hands),

Just ordered the ready set directly from kyosho . https://www.kyoshoamerica.com/34363T...D_p_26312.html

It has the Pro body , kyosho radio and electronics . and none of the sway bar suspension stuff but it’s got the cage and all that . 1st things I want to upgrade are the shocks and tires . I’ve already got the wheels and tires picked out but I need to know the mm length for the shocks cause I’m thinking about getting some Rc4wd King shocks . I’m gonna use Proline BFGs and metal beadlocks . Basically I’m looking to do an 80s class 8 desert truck . Any help and suggestions would be appreciated

Shocks seem to be 100mm.

Granted I've only driven mine 20min today for the first time, but kit's shocks seem good, and they come with 2 sets of spare pistons for tuning. RTR's shocks are the same, with plastic body instead of aluminum. No plans for upgrade until I'm more used to it, even the tires are ok for the terrain I have.

Thanks tuxstang not really concerned about the stock shocks performance I’m basically only upgrading them for looks . I’m gonna use King shocks cause they’re the realist looking ones out there thanks for the info

After having a multiple Baja Reys and Yeti Score trucks over the years, I just want something a bit more basic and easy to work on and I’ve been eyeing these Outlaw Pro kits for a few months. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered via Backorder at Tower because they had the 40 bucks off of 200 deal going...so for 180 bucks, seems like a great start/platform. I have a Sidewinder 4 and a 3800kv Castle 4 pole on my bench already along w/ a Spektrum 6240 servo...just need a radio and I’m golden.

Hopefully the gear I’ve got will push her along nicely. It seems like 2S is the place to be, so 3800kv should be good for normal bashing. We’ll see I guess.

I also ordered that AE spur to quiet it down, if I have the same issue as most on here with the loud gear mesh.

I really want to get a set of extra tires for grass, so can someone tell me the size of the stock tires (like their overall height)? TIA.

Thank you all for some great ideas on paint and upgrades...I’ve been reading closely.
