Default Getting Shoe Goo out of Clothes

Has anybody here had to get Shoe Goo out of cloth without discoloring it or leaving holes behind?

Let's see if this works, here's the picture of that problem area.

I've seen that, WD40, even 2 ice cubes on either side of the spot. I'm concerned that the acetone or WD40 would discolor the cloth.

We were doing an "Ugly Sweater" competition between the offices so instead of just buying ours, we made them instead (surprising number of crafty/artsy people in my office) Since it was surprisingly difficult to find a red sweat shirt for a fat guy during a season that partially celebrates a jolly fat man that wears red, I ended up with a long sleeve T and made my own design with puffy paints we had laying around then Shoe Goo'd a green ribbon Christmas bow in that spot to be like a "bow tie", but looked even more idiotic than expected and was irritating to have under my chin for the half day I wore it

Here's a full pic of it.

And no, there will not be one of me wearing it posted, especially with that ribbon on it

That's hilarious

I would imagine either the lighter fluid or some kind of acetone based cleaner, like maybe even nail polish remover, because it comes in a small bottle with a brush. You could try it in an inconspicuous area of the shirt first to make sure it doesn't stain.

The ShooGoo won't just peel off?

There's actually a few tips out there... "how to remove shoe goo from fabric".

https://healthfully.com/remove-shoe-goo-6022674.html

Acetone is recommended if the goo is uncured. For cured goo they do not recommend using acetone although I can't imagine trying to peel that off dry without some consequence like frayed thread or torn fabric.

I think I'd cut a notch in it and call it a day... ( or hang some mistletoe from it and see where that goes?)

Thanks, I had begun to think that maybe I should stretch the ribbons out and goo them out near my shoulders, but kinda happy I didn't. It doesn't really show up in that thumbnail size, but there is a Charlie Brown tree in the middle of those other trees, should he able to click on it to go to the Photobucket page it's on

It doesn't peel off, it's pretty well embedded into the cloth.

That was the first place my Google search took me too, I was kinda afraid to try a blade or scraper and risk damaging the material. May have to check out HL or Michael's when I get closer to Christmas to see is there is something useful if I can't get it out.

I am one of only two men in my department, that would be very, very unwise

I may see what Dad's icecube idea does, I usually keep 15oz bottles of water in the freezer and use them as blocks of ice for my 34oz Bubba Keg mug, may be worth trying to see how well that works after work tomorrow.

If you can get janitorial supplies, gum remover will freeze it much faster and colder than ice.
