Default Selling electronics

What's the best site to sell off old electronic items? I have an iPhone or 2 I can get rid of.

Any experience with Decluttr or Gazelle?

Ebay if you don't mind paying da fee.
I don't sell much, but I like listing stuff starting at $01 with no reserve and free shipping.
Usually I come out ahead, but I've always made enough to cover shipping and free up shelf space.

Nothing in the rules against this scenario.

Straight from a PM warning sent to me from a mod last year:

"If you’re discussing buying , selling, wanting or trading anything outside of the classifieds sections, it’s not allowed and shouldn’t be happening under any instances. If you have posts like that and I’ve not seen them because they haven’t been yet reported to me..... then please remove them."

The fact it says we cant even discuss "wanting anything" outside the classifieds is pretty ridiculous but the fact I was PMd something like that was... Well I nearly left but I didnt let a few haters ruin the friendships I have made here.

Still... Just gets me a little perturbed when I see somebody doing the same thing I was doing and nothing happens to them. Not saying something should happen to calcagno45, not at all. Just a little salty something was said to me. Just seemed like I was being singled out.

Now just to show no ill will towards calcagno45, my wife just sold one of her old iPhones on "offer up" a few weeks ago.

I glanced at the for sale rules and the forum rules at the top. I understand what you are saying, but as of yesterday, I had not seen anything about it. I was on the chopping block once before.

I didn’t realize I was living on the edge here. Thought chit chat was for random, useless, non RC, or other unrelated BS...

Mods can delete this if necessary.

I did eBay before, May just go that route again.

yeah man i just wanted to make sure i didn't come off as threatening or being a narc, i just didn't want somebody to go through what i went through. its kinda silly, really. i had a gut laugh when i saw where it said we cant even discuss "WANTING" something anywhere but the classifieds haha
so if a new truck comes out we cant say "oh cool i want that!" at that point, whats the use of having forums at all??

I've had the best luck using Facebook Marketplace. Craigslist seems to be going downhill just as fast as forums, and for the same reason.

I sold my sled faster on craigslist to be honest. FB marketplace has not really caught up to CL.

my wife uses it all the time and you can do either local pickup or add the option to ship.

Was it the dick mod that was always on a power trip that has, thankfully, since lost a lot of power?

"That mod" was simply enforcing the rules.

Sounds like you might have a problem with authority.

No, that mod was being a dick and he was always on a power trip. There's a reason he lost most of his power on this site.

I have no problem with authority so that assumption made an ASS out of U.

It's not my assumption. It sounds like the truth. I wouldn't say he was on a powertrip, I would say not a whole lot of people were following rules and he was cleaning the mess up. The aftermath of him getting booted down might have been what you've seen. If the rules are there, as a mod or admin, the rules should be enforced. If lossely followed.. Why have rules? Make them guidelines instead.

We can agree to disagree. But I tell it how it is.

Fellas...Fellas...easyyyyyyyyyyyy

Its chit chat, Badger and Jason always tried to run let this area be a spot where people can mostly speak freely...

I honestly dont have a problem with someone asking about selling their old iphone or ipod or something like that... its not rc related and since not everyone may be aware of Let Go or Offer Up and some of those other apps it would seem to be a legitimate question.

Carry on...

The letter of the law is not malleable or open for interpretation by those with the authority to enforce them.

I've never seen or heard of anyone getting their peepee whacked for posting such a thread in chit chat though. I know feeler threads for possible future products have been against the rules for a decade or more. But that's about it.
