| my cancer I figure its time for an update on my situation. The doctors have not been optimistic for quite awhile now and have given me any help. Everything they tried or wanted to try failed and I am left in hospice just waiting to die, they estimate 4 months as they are not doing any chemo. My main focus is getting my affairs in order and making sure my wife is settled in a new place before I die. I want to thank everyone who helped us out during this time and wish you all the best, take the time to appreciate your loved ones while they are still here. |

First, to anyone who has, or has ever had, cancer...to anyone with any family members to has/had cancer...to anyone who even knows anyone who has/had cancer, my heart goes out to you in a HUGE way. That being said, I haven't read any of the posts in this thread...and, to be completely honest, I can't, and won't, read them. I mean no disrespect to the OP, or to anyone who has posted...quite the opposite. Also, I am not trying to "hijack" this thread, nor will I post anything in this thread after what I'm about to say...I am simply here to tell a short story, about one of the most wonderful, and most caring, people I have known in my life. He was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i, in 1933. As a young teenager, he learned to play the ukulele, from a "ukulele lady" (if you know the song, you'll understand), on the beaches. 11 years later, he was blessed with the most wonderful of gifts...a gift he adored for the rest of his life - a baby sister. When his father got stationed in Kobe, Japan, he went to high school in Okinawa. He started college in Hawai'i, but transferred to Arizona State (on a basketball scholarship), where he not only graduated with multiple degrees, and a teaching credential, but where he also met the woman he would marry, and have two daughters with. Many, many, many years later, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. That spread throughout his body, which led to other cancers, including pancreatic cancer. Although I still lived in the SF Bay Area, and his sister had moved to Las Vegas, he was visited in Fresno (where he them lived) as often as possible. In the end, the cancers won. In September of 2018, he passed away, at home (in-home hospice care). To those with family and/or friends with cancer, do everyone a favor...an honor...and visit with them as often, and as for as long, as you can, because, once they're gone, you won't have another opportunity. God bless to all who read this, and even moreso to those who understand not only what I've said, but the reason why I chose to post this. Uncle Aaron...wherever you are...mom & I love you, and miss you. ~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place Last edited by Panther6834; 12-01-2019 at 09:15 AM. |

Very saddened to hear this and I'm sorry. You're not alone... in several ways. Please let the community know if there's anything that we can do.

That's such a bad situation to be in. Speak to different doctors regarding your case because its a statistical race now. Read medical research papers regarding cancer. It might direct you to the right person that might be able to cure you. The more you read, research and communicate, the more your chances of survival. |

Howdy friend, this diagnosis was similar to mine. I never conceded, went total natural medicines. And 3 years later I'm here. Cast your cares upon The Father, for hope and wisdom in your decisions. Prayers indeed. |
