The flat bad is rad AF, but in typical Snap On fashion the price is F'n ridiculous...hopefully they end releasing it as a non licensed one.

I want the flatbed the most. But the coupe on the back of that truck is awesome as well.

I would hope we're getting these as standard editions soon.

Jesus Frank, your thread title is borderline pornographic

Can't imagine Traxxas would blow all that dough without further plans for the platform. Should be an interesting ride.

Sh*t like this is why I had to take a job after retiring from the military, and why I work OT... Bastards!!!!

Anyhooo…

Yeah, just saw this too, that flatbed looks awesome. Taking a hard look at it, those tires on that thing look like stock TRX6 tires on new wheels.

Also, that Eliminator looks awesome. Remove that Snap-On crap and put a couple of Zs on the doors...

Seriously, Snap-On is still in business? I thought Harbor Freight drove them under...

No doubt that the flatbed is a TRX6 with a different body, and the other cars are new bodies for their 4-Tec car. I don't really see anything other than new bodies, so whether or not we see non-Snap On versions is debatable.

I just read something disturbing about these rigs, and I am hoping it is not true, or hoping Traxxas comes to their senses. I read that they are exclusive to Snap-On customers, and that you have to buy $15k in tools to get the 6X6.

Sounds like these may be exclusively sold thru Snap-On private dealers. A local guy called his Snap-On rep to find out and said price is $995 on the flat bed set by corporate but dealers can mark it up as they feel. We'll see if true on the pricing but I wouldn't bet against it.

1000% mark up for years keeping them afloat now.

I highly doubt that you have to buy 15k in tools in order to get one. But if you did buy 15k in tools or a toolbox, Iím sure they would give you one for free. Iíve spent at least 15k in tools but thatís over a 15 year timeframe of being a mechanic.

Snap on will never go out of business they have too many dumb mechanics thinking they are the be all end all for tools. There are plenty of other options on the market today without the exorbitant prices that snap on charges. Snap on also makes a lot of specialty tools for car manufacturers.

I can ask my snap on dealer on Monday about the prices to get a better idea for everyone. Itís such a new release that he may not have any information for awhile.

So the story on the snap on traxxas RC cars is that they are being raffled off and not sold. In order to get the 6x6 hauler, my snap on guy had to buy a tool box. So basically good luck getting one. People will charge a fortune for the chance to get one.

I agree. Kinda doesn't make sense to not sell them as regular models later, but I'm sure they do whatever Snap-On pays them to do. I believe there have been Snap-On only bodies that Traxxas didn't offer on their own. The XMaxx Snap-On tool truck is one example.

That's not at all what I heard. I was told it came with certain, very expensive toolboxes.

The different stories we're hearing makes me think that the dealer gets a certain allocation, and he can get rid of them as he chooses... raffle, or with a high end purchase, or give it to his kid to ruin.

I'm sure it will be cleared up a bit more in time, just a bit disappointing that a release like this goes the way of exclusivity right now.

Very true. Tough to tell with all of the he said/she said.

It is disappointing. I think it would sell pretty well with as hot as the semi and construction markets seem to be right now.

I understand the whole deal about making exclusive stuff for your corperate partners, but this particular deal I do not understand. Traxxas has to realize that most of us would sell a kidney to get one of these (ours, or someone else's), and even if they sold them for $200 above what the TRX6 costs, they'd sell like hotcakes.

Plus, I am just not a fan of Snap-On, so that might be adding to my annoyance.

Maybe Harbor Freight can work out an exclusive deal with a WLToys version.

They could run it like the old TH coupons. $700 for $450? Don't mind if I do

I can tell you my snap on dealer new what I was talking about the second I asked him about the traxxas trucks today. Every dealer can distribute the cars as they like, itís really up to them. They can keep them for themselves if they really wanted to. In order to get the 6x6 my snap on dealer had to place an order for a tool box. I didnít ask which toolbox he had to order (there is an almost infinite number of tool box sizes and combos that can be ordered). Believe or not they have toolboxes on the truck as they make their daily stops. Lots of techs will make an impulse purchase on something that really catches their eye. And if you are in the market for a toolbox and havenít looked lately all of the snap on tool boxes are very expensive.

I got a 5 drawer mechanics box from HF for Christmas from the wife. Should I send her back to inquire about my RC with the toolbox?
