| Pics from the wife
She's been away attending Warrant Officer school at Ft. Rucker, AL. She sent me a few pics tonight. Still has a bit over two weeks left. Can't wait for her to be back. Thought I'd share. |

WestCoast, Those "guns" are M16A2 rifles with MILES equipment and blank adapters attached. She just came back from Florida where she spent six months. Warrant school is taking roughly six weeks. Then she'll spend 6-8 months in more school here at Ft. Gordon. Ask her and she'll say that she's American. chrispbubba, Thanks, I'll tell her. DJ, She was a 74B which was changed to 25B. Network security and chit like that. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 02-19-2007 at 09:48 PM. |

From the bottom of my heart, I respect the people who keep this country safe and beautiful. I give her props for doing that, and wish her good luck.

Like mentioned earlier, those are REAL M16's, the one closest to the camera looks to be an M16A1 (judging by the hand guards) and the rest are M16A2's. Miles Gear is the goofy looking boxes on the barrels, think REALLY expensive laser tag. The red device on the muzzle is the blank adapter. A simple screw on plug to allow the gas mechanism to operate. They do shoot out real shells, as they use real shells; blanks to be specific. They look like the real deal, just instead of a bullet on the end they are crimped closed like a shotgun shell. Great game to play, that miles/laser tag stuff. Cleaning the rifle sucks though as the blanks use cheap powder that burns real dirty and the residue doesn't get to blow out the end of the barrel. Did 10 years in the North Dakota guard as a Unit Armorer. rash

I always wired my MILES transmitter to operate without needing to pull the trigger. ;) I think it was pin 5 to ground...I just ran a wire back to the trigger and sighted the thing in with night vision. ;) People would get pissed when we'd attack a site like that. During one exercise we took out the Batallion Commander and his driver three times.

My uncle was in the ARMY back in the 80's and he said the same thing about cleaning the cheap powder out of the weapon after shooting blanks, everyone else thought it was cool to run around shooting as much blank ammo as they would give them but my uncle would give his away or just flick em on the trail as they walked so he wouldn't have to clean as much! Lazy bastard!

| I was on the phone with a buddy of mine before she left for school, was telling him that her sister was showing up Sunday and she was headed out on Tuesday. He said "SWEET! She made sure to have a replacement on the way!" She didn't find it as funny as we did. |

Luckily, after nearly 11 years of marriage, we can still crack sarcastic jokes with one another. She said "You know Megan will give me a full report when I get back." I told her "No she won't, I just picked up a case of NyQuil." |
