Pfffffttt, I was in the Air Force for a while and they used 1/4 ply the whole time. Brought my own on occasional trips to farawayland.
Most places outside of my home I also thought of being 1/4 ply. I like that charmin soft, or strong tp. 1/4 ply tp became to be known as prison(t)paper in our household. My 6 year old, cussed her abuela out for buying some once!

You've probably consumed water that had poop in it at one time within the last 96 hours or so, the statistics are strong there. Or maybe even water that still has trace amounts of poop in it. I try not to think about it.

It makes sense really.

If I had something (shit for example) all over my hands I certainly wouldn't be grabbing a few pieces of paper for clean up, I'd be headed straight to the nearest source of running water..

And if you look at places like the Mayan Riviera, you can't put paper down the loo and you're expected to use a trash can beside the crapper. I'd much rather use a bidet than keep a can poopy paper hanging around, even if the paper is mint scented, that doesn't help..

Pull 6 sheets, fold in half offset at 20degree angle to create large sheet, wipe once, fold large sheet in half again to hide all the dirty business and wipe a second time. 3 sheets/wipe, max efficiency and easy on your septic tank..
