Default Local 3d Printing

I don't know anyone with a 3d printer, and I need a tiny little mamba x mount printed for my Rock Rey.

Seems like Fedex or a place like that would have 3d printing by now, but I can't find anything that isn't commercial scale.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Some libraries offer access to 3D printing.

Also try searching for on demand 3D printing.
I use Jawstec but its not cheap. They use SLA printers instead of the typical consumer grade FDM printer. They're very strong parts but overkill when its not needed.

For a simple ESC mount you'd probably be okay with a FDM printed part with either PLA or PETG (so long as its designed to be strong).

You have a good number of places in your area that do customer-submitted 3D printing. You can also go through an on-line 3D printer like Shapeways.

Yes, I used Jawstec when designing table tennis rackets. Not a cheap pleasure at all. But we made the first batches on commercial printing, and then we decided to buy our own printer.

Most likely, you will need an SLA printer. The quality of the parts printed by the FDM printer is very low. The SLA printer is more for complex fixtures, high-precision fixtures, and molds, but the quality of these products is much better than FDM. Maybe I'm wrong, but my friend ordered a part from a company working with an FDM printer and after a while, he remade the same part but with an SLA printer.

Depends on the part. For an ESC mount, FDM is fine, and there would be no need to to go through the added expense of getting something resin printed. Also, if I were to send a part out and not print it myself, I would have it printed in ABS vs PLA or PETG.

But, given that the OP needed this part almost a year ago, I am thinking he solved his problem one way or another.

Yeah FDM is fine for 99% of RC parts, though the design and infill are very important to being strong and holding threads etc. Of the hundreds of parts I've printed I've only opted for SLA on maybe 3 of them.

On the other hand if you're in the position of needing parts and not having a printer I would suggest SLA for the simple fact that you're already gonna be paying more than you should for the part even if its just FDM so why not get the strongest option and avoid needing to replace it possibly (if it breaks)

I have been toying with getting a SLA printer, but I really don't want that stink and mess in the house. My garage is insulated, but doubtful that I would be able to get it warm enough in the winter to print reliably.
