Default Dog tracking

What do you do to "dogtrack" a 1:1?

Well, old Fords seem to be a good one for this. In my area it refers to how a dog walks fast, they walk crooked so the rear feet don't hit the front. For a vehicle it means going down the road crooked, the rear wheels do not track directly behind the front wheels, they are off to one side or the other, vehicle still goes straight but looks like it is in a permanent slight turn.

if you dont have 4 wheel steering, why would you want a vehicle to dogtrack? of course in the event of 4 wheel steering its called crabwalking...

late 70's through early 80's chevys are mistaken a lot for "doggy walkin", but they not. most people believe that because when you look at the back of the truck, the front axle came from the factory wider than the rear, so when you see the front wheels out farther than the rear it looks like they are "doggy walkin".

one of the main reasons for it, is improper alignment of the front or rear axle.

I still don't understand if dog-tracking is just a misalignment problem or if crab-walking is the same as dog-tracking, but at least now I know why my dog trots along with his butt off to one side
