Default New Car

I've been thinking about buying a '95ish Corolla, like this body-style.

Does anyone have one like it? If so, do you recommend this type of car?

I don't like those type of cars, get a cool truck or something. That is what i would do. But really, i think they are decent cars because my mom used to have one and she liked it. But if it has only a little bit of space, about the same as a jeep, that is what i would get. But that is me.

I'm looking at either a Scion xB Rs4, Chevy HHR LS, Toyota Matrix XR or Mazda Mazda3 5 door sport.
I want something different. Everyone has a Civic.
Just about any econobox from Toyota, Honda, Nissan will last a couple hundred thousand miles with maintenance.
Look at how the engine is laid out too if you plan on doing work yourself. Nothing worse than having to tear apart half the upper engine just to change the plugs. We checked out the HHR the other night, and the only thing that's easy to get to in that is the radiator and the oil filler.

Jeckler for you I reccomend the xB because they are very roomy and get around 35 mpg + they are easy to work on. My dad has one, I installed a cold air intake on it, it runs so much better. You should definatley go for a truck unless you are looking for something to commute in.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger for one. Drove both tranny styles yesterday. The 5-speed is definately more fun. I still need to check out the Toyota and Mazda though. The Fit is too small I think. My wife wants me to check out the Element though, and a PT Cruiser. I shot down both. The Element I saw yesterday was nice though.

This is what the RS4 looks like...

Don't buy an XB or XA. If you have the desire to do so... make sure you buy all the extras at the time of purchase. The current XA's and XB's are going away. New and improved ones are in route right now.

What does a Scion XA and XB have in common? Oh, they are a Toyota Echo!! Yep. Same platform. Wait for the new Scions if you must buy one.

Why do I say all this? Because I work at Toyota.

I have an 05 XB, 58K miles and the only thing it needed was tires. I love the thing. Tons of leg room and great gass milage!!

The '08 xB and (new) xD are coming. The xB is supposed to be available sometime in May. I'm sure Toyo knows more. There were no '07 xA's or xB's.
I like the current body style better than the one coming. The new one is a bit bigger and more powerful though.

The RS4 package adds the Torched Penny Maziora paint, different tails, interior LED's, shift knob (on the MT), rear spoiler and front grill. There were only 2500 built, and each one is numbered with a plaque mounted on the passenger side of the dash.

The Prius owners are some of the most byotching people in the auto business too. They think that since they purchased a Pruis that they should be raised up on a high platform....BS. They whine because of a slight decrease in mpg and......

You know what. I'm off work today and better not get all worked up. Seriously, they are the only owners that get me worked up........

The only reason my dad got one was because the commute from Windsor to Sacramento in a Big Block 454 '90 Chevy Crewcab Dually with a 6'' lift was a minimum of $300 a week
