I have all 3 of those games, and I must say Insane is the best for rockcrawling. Evo2 gets kinda screwy when you try to drive on the rocks, and the Cabelas3 trucks aren't that capable. Insane may not have the best detail, but it still has the realism/physics.

Destroyer, have you downloaded the patch that allows every thing on the trucks to be modified/tweaked? You can change suspension dampening, stiffness, gravitational effect, I set it at .75 which keeps the trucks rubber side down more of the time. Also, ride height can be adjusted big time. I tried increasing tire size through manipulation of some of the coding, but never could. Still, with the changes, the trucks are pretty capable. Just have to plan your lines.

Is this for Evo2 or CORA3? I got one for CORA3 that did that stuff, but never really messed with it much.

I have cabela's off-road 2. Its fun, I just go racing through the desert and do prerunner stuff, the cars suck for articulation but it keeps me biuzy for hours.

I bought both cabela's 2 and 3 at walmart. Each are $20, though I don't think you can find 2 anymore.

I've had 1nsane for a while, but only really started playing it again recently after getting my TXT-1. It's totally amazing. BY FAR the best offroad game out there.

I wish there were more levels purely for rock crawling though. Spain is really nice, and some areas in Japan and China are cool.

I really want to play this online. Anybody who wants to, IM me on AIM at Ta587 and we can try it out.

the Icelandic offroad you are talking about is called formula offroad. I saw it on tv a few times when I was in europe, it's kinda like the gravelrama but if I'm not misstaken gravelrama is just a straight up the hill type of racing, where in formula offroad they do a whole coarse on the side of a gravel pit sometimes going directly across the face of a hill. it's pretty intense stuff to watch, if you do a seach on the net for formula offroad you can find some pictures and video but with it being a scandinavian sport the websites are mostly in dutch, swiss, norse and icelandic languages.
I've been in a few sand and gravel pits w/ my Savage and it's quite challenging doing that sort of driving, paddle tires are almost a must.

The most realistic offroad game I can think of is Screamer 4x4. It is not a high budget game, so don't expect amazing visuals, but it is the most realistic offroad game I have played for PC.

Here is a link to a GameSpy article about it:
http://archive.gamespy.com/reviews/january02/screamer/

The demo for it just lets you use the Land Rover and has an 8min time limit. The demo is around 30mb. The full version can usually be found on Ebay for $5-10.

Default 1nsane crawling game.

There was a lot of good info in the lthread about 1nsane crawling/racing game. Now that I cant access it, I was hoping we could get some of the info back. Things like the cheats, how-to's, etc. And maybe even a link for ol jakhammer to d/l the game since I cant find it..

Badger, or any other admins/mods, if you dont want this thread going again, please pm me. I just want to check this game out and have some useful info on it if I find it.
