I don't have a direct link to where you can get the game, but the game is still available in many places including Ebay. The direct source is from www.CodeMasters.com. I know they sell it, but for about $25 bucks. A great source for Rock Crawling in the game is www.InsaneGarage.com. There are a lot of rock crawlers and maps available from home programmers. I have a new map coming out shortly that is dedicated to rock crawling. Look for it on IG when it is released. You should be pleased.

Speaking on this topic, would someone buy a rock crawling / Icelandic type racing game if one was available? Something that was geared towards our sport and not just a hack from an old game. Just curious since I am trying to convince some programmers to jump back on the wagon for this to happen.

In Iceland they race high HP Jeeps up hills of vulcanic sand.And I mean stright up,allmost 90 deg inclines.Seen it on speedvishon at 2 am one night. :twisted:

OHH OK I knew what that was - the American version would be Gravelrama! right?
800+ HP, NOS, cut tires like sand paddles - and they can skip across water did you see that one?

Yup. Icelandic racing = Gravelrama. Though I had never heard it said that way before. I like the name Icelandic so much better. I think of banjos, inbreeding, and people named Cooter and Cletus when I hear Gravelrama :D


1NSANE is awesome. Go to www.InsaneGarage for all your rock crawling needs in that game. So many cool cars available. Its unbelieveable. As for the game, I think you can get it for 10 bucks. If you ask on IG, they can tell you where.


We haven't figured a good way to hold competitions online yet, but several people are working on it. There is racing courses which is easy to score, but scoring rock comps on a game that it wasn't originally designed for is a lot more difficult.

I guess i have to get it working so i can play you guys. It works offline but on gamespy it will never let me play. If anyones had this problem what did you do. :?:

I haven't played EVO2 or even seen a screen shot. I am so hooked on Insane that I would hate to find another game to take up even more of my time.

Skyjacker - are you referring to EVO2 or Insane? If its insane, don't even bother with Skyjacker. Just hook up with people on the Insane websites and do peer to peer play. I have yet to use Gamespy.

mine is acting all funny, the displays at the bottom of the screen are a light blue and my irc course causes the game to stop and shut off.... :evil:

Dang. EVO2 looks sick. It appears that the vehicle poly limits are much better or non existant in EVO as compared to Insane. The details are definitely not as realistic in Insane when looking at the vehicles.

Extreme - IRC is most likely shutting off because you didn't do what the Readme file says. There is an IRC folder that came with the downloaded map. That IRC folder needs to be placed in your Insane\maps\ directory (so it should look something like this: C:\Codemasters\Insane\Data\Maps\irc\ ). This folder contains many of the details, information, and objects that the IRC_1 map uses.

IRC_1 is a great map. If you haven't played it and tried to make the trails, you should check it out. It is one of the only good maps out there dedicated to rock crawling.

Yeah! Virtual 4wheeling! No one's mentioned Cabela's Offroad Adventure 3, but this is a FUN game, very realistic, only downer is the lack of a solid axle up front, but with complete car damage, I'll take it. Some random shots:
