wildlife run amok...
 

...so I'm out at one of my drainage ditch spots crawling the other day. I'm trying a new setup so my attention is on my rig.
I suddenly hear a hellacious rattling of hooves behind me, I look back over my shoulder and here comes 12-14 (lost count) whitetail deer just BARRELING down the ditch full-tilt, heading right at me.
Here's the really funny part. I notice a small brown creature on the ground ahead of them. It gets closer and I see it's a groundhog. The deer have spooked him and he's runnin' for his life, also right at me. He's small, though - his attention is on finding the fastest line through the rocks. By now the deer have seen me and veered off either way around me. But the groundhog headed right at me until he was like only 6 feet away, then he noticed me and stopped in his tracks for a few seconds. The poor little guy was terrified, his eyes were as big as dinner plates. In desperation, he darts RIGHT BETWEEN MY FEET and disappears in a hole in the rocks behind me!
Apparently I built one of my lines right over his house, and I did'nt notice his front door!

HA, that would have been hilarious to get on tape.

Wow That sounded scary.
