I feel dumb asking this, but how are e-clips measured? Inside diameter (thing it goes on) or outside diameter?(the diameter of the clip itself):-(

i think its the clp itsself like most 3 mm clips go on hingpins for like 1/10 scales and 5 mm ones are on my buggy and the shaft is not 5 mm
