Yea, I saw that abotu a month or 2 ago. They are nice looking but I wonder if the axles are as scale looking as the TLT's. But I am curious what the tranny is like. Anything is better than belt driven in a truck. :?

Be cool if it was under $100 too. So far the cheapest I have bought a TLT was fr $99.95 with free shipping. I like buying a new kit for under $100. Gives more room for upgrades. But maybe I'm just wishing.

The details in that ad say it comes with 2.2 5 spoke wheels and a gears driven tranny.

I don't think the axles are that scale looking from these pics

But it looks like they already have aluminum cases for them

Maybe aluminum wheels took

Definately more than $100 though

I thought I read somewhere that it has plastic diffs. If thats true, then you might as well get a VMG. IMO

Yea, it also will cost $229 per Tower hobbies. I would rather pay a little over $100 for a TLT and then customize it myself with the extra $100 it would cost to buy this one.
Imean for less than $20 you can have a nice set of wheels and for around $35 you can have some nice tires and then maybe $15 for the extension links and then $10 for the shafts and you have $20 for a different 10th scale body.
Thsi truck is still 18th scale body and is only 7.5 long.
It's nice looking though with those wheels on it.

I dont know what it matters if its the next tlt because everyone will just rip it apart to keep the not too real looking axles. Easiest way IMO is still a normal tlt with a traxxas tranny.

1. This is old.
2. This is NOT tech and should not be in this forum. It needs to be in chit chat.

Moved to chit chat

the version with the aluminim cases is a prototype that dave from rc411 built a LONG LONG time ago. he used mainly tc3 parts. pti later bought the design and had to change things around a little to make it thier own. i think it has hella potential, but we'll see after i get it. i gotta admit i'm pretty bummed about the damn plastic ball diffs....

i got one on pre-order, it BETTER be coming to my house as we speak since they announced they are finally shipping.

The diffs use AE plastic gears. I emailed PTI to see if they would be offering metal gears and they replied that they had not found metal aftermarket gears and did not have the capabilities to make them at this time.

The wheels are RPM Typhoons or Starz Rear Wheels for AE trucks. I run the same ones on my TLT.

Hey for anyone that wants them that is getting this truck, I have two 6061 spools (lockers) that fit into the TC3, so they should fit into this. Paid $48 for them 2 years back when I was making a small scale crawler (before the TLT came out). $25 and they're yours (PM me).

Anyhoo, as for the truck, I think it looks good and everything, I don't know about that front mounted servo setup, not the best for crawling or scale looks. I don't like the plastic gears (but there are metal ones available if it is indeed a TC3 diff). The price is high because its a small company. The good thing is, most of the stuff is probably AE parts, with some aluminum goodies from the company, so if you break something, you should be able to get it. But with tamiya, you will still be able to get it in 10 years. And I like that.

so did PTI say it uses tc3 gears in the diffs? cause i was under the assumption that only the prototype used tc3 guts.
