I keep up just fine with the 250f's on the track, just looking for some more speed and power.

The rm's really haul when you get them tuned right. My dads 83 250 (yeah i know its old) is probably one of the most powerful motors made in a 250 bike to date. The next year suzuki detuned the motor cause it was too fast. And each member of my family has 2 dirtbikes. I have a cr125r and a xr100 (playbike)

A cr500 is a handful to ride, especially when you get into the powerband.

I have an ATK 406 2 stroke. Don't ride it as much as my others but it hauls. Definately not your run of the mill bike. Kickstarter on the wrong side, chain on the wrong side. Hell, the rear brake disk isn't even on the rear wheel Don't really have any experience with the 4 stroke ATK's other than a 605 I used to have.

Best to stay with one of the big three though. Hell of alot easier to get parts for.

ATK bought Cannondales failed MX/Enduro projects a couple years ago or so...

The Cannondale was ahead of its time with Fuel Injection and some other neat stuff @ the time. The mapping they used wasn't up to the rigors of MX, or off-road in general. Numerous computer problems and the like. They bought back a number of the bikes trying to update/retrofit another mapping/computer system with limited success.

FYI...the old Can-AM became the ATK. Used to race Enduro's with some guys back in the mid to late 80's that swore by the bikes...I rode KTM's back when nobody knew what they were. Husqvarna was the bike for off-road/hare scrambles, desert racing and Enduros.
