This is what I think is cool:

Quote:
With the VXL-3s you have the flexibility to use conventional brushed motors, brushless motors, and sensored brushless motors. The VXL-3s auto detects the motor type for you. High-current capacity (320 amps peak) and two-stage thermal protection frees you from motor limits.

This is sweet. I remember telling someone when the origional Novak was released and the brushless craze really hit, that Traxxas would end up making some RTR brushless vehicles.

Dang, now I have to choose between a rustler or pede. 70 MPH stock rustler would sure be fun.

It can run brushed, and brushless motors. Sensorless and sensored, very cool option. 6V 2.5Amp BEC with a 6-cell NiMh, probably 3amp with a lipo setup. Auto-Lipo cutoff, cooling fan connector, WOW!

I just might have to get just the ESC to test out.

I think it's great that they put this stuff out, but I really think they betrayed people by putting out the XL5 pede and rusty so close to this. If they had known that this was coming out, they shouldn't have put out a "slightly better" rusty and pede, have people buy that, and then come out with these.

I've also been thinking about picking up an XL-5 just to play around with. Maybe to race if I can find a track around here, I have'nt really looked into that yet.

This looks like a better RTR option. Metal gears and a brushless setup right out of the box. I'm going to wait for this one, unless it costs substantially more than an XL-5.

Crawling drew me back into rc, now I want something else that goes a little faster...

Anyone find a price yet?

I'm guessing with the brushless system, the 5x11 bearing carriers, hex hardware, & metal gears in the transmission. We're going to be looking somehwere in the neighbourhood of $275?
