Default New Workshop?

It's not a done deal, but my wife and I have agreed to terms on a new house purchase... As Long as it passes inspection (should be no problem), this will be my new hobby workshop. 30'x30' Concrete floor, power, wood burning stove, oversized overhead door, and lots of shelves and bench space.

I think i am going to like it there... The house is pretty insignificant as far as I am concerned... the 3/4 acre of nice flat back yard and my new huge shop are all I care about!

Niceeeeeee, I have a shop the same size. I built a 12 x 12 MAN room in one corner that has AC, fridge, cable,.... I'm in the process of building my bathroom now. Once the girls go to bed at night I spend at least 2 to 3 hours a night in there.

nice shop man, that will be so sweet for you, in the winter it is the BEST escape you will ever have. I have had my shop done for 3 years now and I cannot tell you how great it is. I have a wood stove and a forced air gas heater too. Keep us posted as you fill it up with r/c stuff.

Nice shop. Hope you get to sign on the house soon.

Getting a new house is always a good investment and then a shop like that... YOU just can't loose.

When we were buying our house I almost talked the wife into one that had a 1500 sq ft house with a 2500 sq ft shop

I'm thrilled to death as my wife and I had differing opinions on what the list of "must haves" in our house search were. This is the only house in our area that fit both our lists... and they dropped the price 10 grand the week before we went to look at it. Then the day we looked at and were pretty impressed and were mulling over making an offer, my agent called and said the current owners were EXREMELY motivated. They are expecting a baby any day, an they have a offer in on their dream home contingent on selling their current house. That offer expired in 72 hours an they really wanted the new place. I made them an offer that was another 10 grand short of what they were currently asking contingent on inspection and having the guy install new wood flooring (he's an installer and had half of it done already) throughout the rest of the house.

They accepted.

Now the inspection is supposed to happen this weekend, but I went over the house pretty thoroughly and don't expect any surprises.

The shed has 200 amp service already and good lighting. It's insulated and he says the wood stove does wonderfully in there for winter months. It has a big exhaust fan that creates a decent breeze with the main door open, even on the 88 degree day i looked at it. It was comfortable inside it.

The only thing about this house that scares me at all is it has hot water radiant heat. It's a modern system, but I don't know crap about them. From what i read they are quiet, efficient and reliable... but it just scares me.

From what I've heard that is suppose to be a very good way to heat a house and cost effective.

It's not really radiator heating... this is tubes in the floor. Each room has a valve to adjust flow to adjust temp. I live near St. louis, Missouri. We get 100 degree summers and sub zero days in winter and everything inbetween. The house also has a few woodburning fireplaces I can use to supplement the heating or during power outages.

when i was 17 our house burned down, or out, nothing but a brick shell. anyway when my dad was rebuilding it, brick mason, he wanted to put that in, the floor system but i think it was out of budget. but its supposed to be very good, the floors are always nice and warm, and effeciant. i may be wrong but i think its trickled over from europe.

You will not be disapointed in the heating system, heat rises, so heat the floor and everything else stays nice and warm. Much more effecient then the furneces of the old days.
