Replace the clutch bell with one with fewer teeth. Turn the two-speed adjustment screw in to delay the shift. |

It's like skeeno said, the gear ratio that makes that. I think it is the higher spur gear teeth, and lower teeth on the clutch.

it just seems to have no power because when my friend bought it (i made this thread for him) he was under the impression it could do wheelies but it can only just move itself!

It has to be tuned perfect for it to do wheelies. Or at least good enough to not bog down, and not be to lean. Then it will be quicker, and might do the wheely then.

I only was able to do wheelies when I changed to a Wasp .28. Then it was annoying so I added the long chassis (which I am selling). Savage was not made for wheelies. Tmaxx was the master of that...

lean out your lsn about an 1/8th stiffen up the rear shocks run a 13t clutch bell You can keep leaning your lsn until it sounds like popcorn after you release the trigger from wot. then richen it back up a little and you'll be set. What glowplug are you using? I think i ran the mc-59 in my s25. and then the OS #8 in the OS .30 a stock savage can wheely with no problems. |

The way to know if your low speed needle is set properly is to run your truck around the yard a bit to get it to running temperature. When it is warm bring it in and pinch the fuel tubing until the engine cuts off. The rpm's should increase for about a second or so with the engine shutting off within 2 or 3 seconds. If the engine takes longer you can afford to lean it out a bit. If it runs up and falls on its face real quick its too lean. To get that vehicle to do wheelies you need to have the low end at its optimum tune. Its so long an heavy it wont want to do it on pavement but in grass it should do it with ease if tuned right

just to add to what he said. let the truck get to running temp and then let it sit for about 30 seconds. go WOT and if its really sluggish and pours smoke. you are too rich. |
