They cant, they lost all the metal parts molds when the company that made them closed its doors years ago. It's too expensive now to re-design all the parts...

I think it's great that Tamiya re-releases many of their old kits. Many of you are too young anyhow to appreciate these throwbacks! Brings back wonderful memories...
